grass & white clover flowerings
would be a sky
with feathers under there
where the sound of rain belonging lasts

a blue & white bird
have melted together somehow
a small maple
berry bushes & the area above the lines

even each fence dove & flew about
in a reckless acrobatic festival
with chipmunks at their dish
some days & nights in either direction

we can thank the rise
& fall
of a simple orange violin

"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
