If human beings were all one color
Of one faith or perhaps none at all
Would we still have reason to kill each other?
Climb to the top and watch them fall?

If we all shared the land together
No flags, one common goal
Would we find another reason to kill our brother?
The answer, I think, you know

Too many people leaving in fear
Too much fucking pride
Too much competition to shed a tear
Too many people, nowhere to hide

I wish I had an island
A handful of people I’d invite
I’d live in peace as long as I can
Then lay my head down and die
