Could this guy be any more of a stiff? Talk man. Stop reading it. I don't think there is any way he can win a nomination.

  • This is staged like a TV show. It's like watching American Idol. The crowd cheers and the camera pans out to show them all simultaneously rise to their feet. It's so scripted and phony.

Dude sounds out of practice. It's memorized. At least Obama could make his bullshit sound authentic.

Politics=The decoy of perception....some of those running for office does this so well.

  • It doesn't matter. That's what the crowd is for. They're like actors. Their job is to make him look good by making as much noise and as many standing ovations, no matter what he says or how he sounds. It's like a TV show.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jeb wins. I'm not surprised by anything in politics anymore. In the last several elections we've seen so many crazy and/or unexpected things happen. I'm just hoping the new counter-culture will arise out of all of this. First it was the hippies counter-culture, then the hardcore punk counter-culture. My hope for the next one: Some kind of international hardcore Ecopeace movement. That right, you heard it here. That's my prediction for the next movement and maybe Jeb will be the unwitting catalyst the way Johnson and Nixon were for the 60's antiwar movement and Reagan was for the punk movement. Bring it on.

I actually do give Americans a lot of credit for working very hard to overcome great obstacles. Of course we are even more expert at setting ourselves up for disaster in the first place.

Good call, Hugh. Yes, many cultures/countries have shown great stamina and fortitude under duress. Perhaps I should have said "our species"!
