I think it's funny that all of the posts have been from the 95 tour except the one from 93.

Lives opened and trashed...'look ma, watch me crash'...
No time to question...why'd nothing last...
Grasp and hold on...we're dyin' fast...
Soon be over...and I will relent...
Let the ocean swell, dissolve 'way my past
    Three days, and maybe longer
    Won't even know I've left

Under your tongue...I'm like a tab...
I will give you what...you're not sposed to have...
Under my breath...I swear by sin...
For better or for worse...a best we began...
Let the sun climb, oh, burn 'way my mask
    Three days, and maybe longer
    Shed my skin at last...shed...shed...

Let the sun shine, burn 'way my mask
    Three days, and maybe longer
    Won't ever find me here
Let the ocean dissolve 'way my past
Four days, and not much longer...

    Let my spirit pass...

    This is, this is...
    This is, this is...
    This is, this is...
    My...last exit

Well...that's the first real tour for the song, aside from some early versions. Makes sense.

But you'd think that the 98 tour (IMO is thier "peak") would have had something that was this good. I do very much like the msg 03 version. Eds voice isn't nearly as good as 95, but theirs tons of energy and I love the scream between the first and second verse.

Does anyone have a video of the Fox Theatre Last Exit in St.Louis 2004?
I may be biased a little because I was there and the setting may have been a huge bonus to the sound.
Curious if anyone can post it and have others give a listen.

I doubt it will matter because I highly doubt it's better than soldier field. I kid.

I enjoyed this a lot. You are correct, stone was awesome. But not quite as good as soldier field.

They could groove back then with Jack Matt to me just doesn't have that to offer they were funkier with Jack for sure ...

Off topic and a never ending discussion too, I know, but I also think Jack kicked serious ass with that funky style of his. I don't get why many people say he was not good live... he was amazing! although Matt sounded great in 98 and still in 2000 IMO. Wonder what happened after that. I'm not complaining, I love Matt and as Ed said, he saved the life of the band. But I do miss that groove!!! Even flow is the perfect example of the groove that got lost after 2000.
If I knew where it was, I would take you there.

I thought matt was great in 98 but flat in 00. Actually to me, the whole band was blah post Denmark. 2000 was very disappointing and rightfully so.

Doesn't get more raw than this:

This one is my favorite. Something about the rawness suits the song way better than when they had gotten it down.

    That,soldier field version is good.

But not as good as New Orleans '93. It's ok to to be second best, it's the effort that counts.
