The version of KORITFW with PJ and U2 may be the coolest ever!

wanna make poverty history!!!

though SNL with neil is hard to beat.

Bono was funny as hell when he called them U-jam....egomaniac should have been Pearl-2

It was really disappointing IMO :(
Bono shittily changed the lyrics, leaving Ed standing there looking stupid with a tambourine and the Edge took over Mike's part, leaving Mike standing there looking like he was lost

    Not good at all :(

Agreed. There is a whole thread discussing this on The Porch somewhere. :)
I thought also that Ed looked a bit uncomfortable and that he just let Bono take over... as did Mike with the Edge.

ed looked uncomfortable with bono, edge stole mikes solos.. they arent actually mikes parts they are Neils parts but oh well and the lyrics just plain sucked c'mon this was the worst version of this ever.

I didn't get the vibe that anyone was taking 2nd fiddle. I think they were just having a great time with some musicians some of them love.

Given the fact it was a benefit concert I didn't mind the lyric change, thought it was what made it interesting!

I didn't know it was a Pearl Jam song that had set parts for the guys, why the hell would they care if Edge took their solo it wasn't about them, it was about making poverty HISTORY!!!!!!!!

I liked it, to each their own I guess

still think it should have been Pearl-2, well now that I think about it maybe not people might think they were knitting.

So U-jam it'll have to be

There was no one playing second fiddle to anyone...there were 1 1/2 bands on a stage jamming for a good reason.

Mike plays that solo all day everyday;he played some, The Edge played some...I'm sure Mike is not as churlish as some of you here in thinking that his spotlight was stolen. Mike's spotlight cannot be stolen; he owns it.

My friend from Melbourne just emailed me and said he visited to 5 different newsagents to buy a copy of the Sun Herald newspaper with the free Make Poverty History DVD in it and they were all sold out. :(

that's cos it's stupid!! they never make enough of the free DVD's, you'd think they'd make a similar no to the no of papers they print, but no, that's too illogical. so instead people have to miss out. i work at safeway, and we didn't even get the DVD's in. turns out they must be a rarity..........
EVENFLOW MEMBER #009 and i'm LOVIN the new PJ!!!! avacado all the way!!

i don't see too much complaining about the sharing, more commenting about how it was horrible and didn't work. edge shouldn't of had mike's solo's, and bono's lyrics were pretty painful. if it would've been done differently it might have worked. i don't really like u2 but i could see it working. it flat out didn't though.

Yeah I have to agree with ya. On the dvd, you see a backstage snippet, and before they walk on stage, Bono makes the "U Jam" comment to Jeff, who shoots him back a big smile that had to be in politeness! :D

From a musical/Pearl Jam fan standpoint, I was disappointed for the reasons quoted above. Found myself screaming "Let McCready solo you .....!!!" But then, there's the cause to consider. After 3 nights in Melbourne with a Sydney show the next night and Ed not feeling the best, it was so great that they turned up for this.
