MMJ was amazing with the Chicago Youth Orch.
Ben Harper acoustic solo on the kids stage for a few songs- GREAT
Satellite Party on the kids stage- GREAT So much better than when they opened for PJ. Run Through and Gideon were amazing
Perry Ferrell singing Summertime Rolls with the Youth All stars- GREAT
Iggy Pop- some brilliant moments- a few things got a little monotonous for me having never seen him before.
The Wailers- pretty sweet- air quality was a little hazy though ;-)
Kings Of leon- left them to go see Iggy sorry, they ahd a chance to hook me and they did not deliver i nthe early part of the set.
Day was hot as shit and awful
Pearl Jam- well here is the deal, reading reviews I am not in agreement.
I was way in back since I had bascially been right up front for the Vic so i figured give some new people a chance. Sound quality sucked on the mixing, Mike guitar was on and off, ed vocals were the only clear thing with Matt Drumming. I could not see the stage at all and had to rely on the big screens. Can I just say that is a shitty way t o see a show! No ones fault but mine I know, not Pearl Jams fault, just making a point here. We in the fan club are spoiled rotten by this band, and sitting with the"I know that one song by them" crew really made me appreciate even more what they do for us die hards.
The bands sounded good just a bad mix. after 4 days of 90+ weather I think I was just tired too. To be honest Alive was the song that got my area gong more than any. Overall this set was exactly what we all knew we'd get a greatest hits set with one or two surprises. It was funny seeing Rodman with Ed on his shoulders!
thank Pearl Jam for comcluded a great weekend of music. Last time I do the back of the venue thing!
