iTunes Sorting Question

Question if anyone can help.

I'm obsessive with keeping my iTunes/iPod in particular order.

In some instances I have changed the date (year) for an entire album. It shows in my iTunes with the date I edited but on my iPod with the date released.

Example: the Ten, Vs. Vitalogy reissues. I changed all tracks (incl. bonus) to show release year of the actual album. When I sync they show the years the reissues came out and sort in that order.

This doesn't happen all the time since I've done the same with reissues from other bands and sometimes it's the same problem and sometime it's not. I don't see any differences between the ones that work and ones that don't (at least I think that).

I know it sounds stupid but it's driving me nuts. If anyone can help, if this makes any sense please share.
