I cannot fathom that I live in a world where people pay $130 of their hard earned dollars to see Bon Jovi...pretty sure he has played Toronto at least 5 times in the last two years. There's a guy just happily riding the train, writing absolute shit and collecting his cheque

Sorry ur mad at me but u better keep the faith or you'll be livin on a prayer and wanted dead or alive. I will lay you down in a bed of roses and then you will just be a memory. Mind your own business. It's my life and I'll go down in a blaze of glory. I believe you give love a bad name. People think I'm not tough but in these arms are a superman tattoo and a tat of a steer skull! Have a nice day. -Jon Bon Jovi

Are these bands doing full tours or mini tours? I bet they are doing full tours where they can spread their fixed costs over many many more tickets. Look... None of us are concert promoters or understand what fully goes into planning something like this. It just bothers me that people who are such big fans won't give Ed the benefit of the doubt. Personally because I don't have all the facts I am not going to make wild acusations assuming the worst. Think about this for a second....If Eddie's goal was to make as much money as possible wouldn't he be touring the whole country playing as many shows as possible since he doesn't have the other band members to pay? He is doing this for fun, not money.

Very true. I like to be hard on EV and the boys because Pearl Jam fans are die hard and are quick to back the band. Makes for entertaining reading.

we aren't backing the band, we are against you.

I understand the realities of economics are a bummer, but haven't we covered it? Haven't we fucking beat the living shit out of this subject since we seem to do it EVERY SINGLE GODDAMNED time they play!!

I'd like a concert ticket to cost nothing. I wish in fact that they would pay me as I walked through the turnstiles, but it ain't gonna happen. I'm not even looking forward to the next tour because I know the dead horse will come out and we'll beat it once again with a fuck-tillion of these kinds of threads with the same posts and the same responses. And once again I'll look like a big fucking hypocrite because I can't resist to tell some guy who lives in his mother's basement to go find another band or not to go or find another job or what the fuck ever!

    how's that for entertaining?

I'm glad my main musical interest is a genre where every show is under $30. Most under $20. Some under $10. Good ol' hardcore...
  • Ashamed to say this but I have paid more:

    Rolling Stones, Miami, 10/17/05: $402.00
Eric Clapton, Hollywood Bowl CA, 8/2/04: $254.50
The Who, Fort Lauderdale, 11/20/06: $207.75
Bob Dylan, Hollywood, FL, 5/11/06: $200.00
    Van Morrison, Orlando, 1/2/07: $177.00

Pearl Jam, anywhere USA, 2020: $5,000.00?

    allright then, I apologize.

I'm just sooooo over these threads about ticket prices and how people wish it were still 1991 and what greedy bastards pearl jam are.

my advice, go find a new band if you no longer respect this one.
:D Yep....agree totally there :) more .....if you don't want to pay it - don't.
It's like people who whinge about something on telly - if you don't like it - don't watch it.
FUCK! I wish Ed would come down here - I guarentee the tickets would cost way more and we wouldn't be complaining about it.
Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion .... so before you all slaughter me.....that's why I'm giving mine :D and I am not saying ANYONE is wrong....just saying I disagree (strongly)...

Thanks to stubhub, their commission fee and a criminally insane international shipping charge of $24.95, I am in for $391.85 for two tickets to EV for LA2...my lord...to me it is well worth it BUT...wow. I wish pjtaper had proposed his Ticketmaster fan exchange idea before the first TM onsale date.

Last year I saw Eric Clapton for $125 and had great seats. This year the ticket price is $225. The price to sit on the lawn is over $50 when you include service charges. This is the first time I won't be going to a show because the price is way too high. What makes it even harder to accept is the fact that most of the shows on Clapton's tour are priced at $125 with a few exceptions. At a quick glance one can see that certain cities are being taken advantage of. Toronto is priced at $225 and the next night in Montreal the price is $125.

God, just shut up already about ticket prices. You think 70 bones is too much to see EV, try a U2 concert. Now they're a great band and I love them to death, but their prices are in another strotosphere. EV could get way more for his tickets so be thankful they are what they are.

Ouch! I'm sorry you spend your time being against someone you don't even know, but I'm pleased I got you to respond... and in such an "entertaining fashion.
P.S. I'm from San Francisco. We don't have basements. I live in my mom's loft... oh darn, she's calling me for dinner. I gotta split.
P.P.S. Job? Why work when you can freeload?

Eric Clapton is one of the true greats that I still want to see. He's playing a show in Atlantic City at the Borgata. The cheapest seat is $195 and the most expensive is $ 500. I'm sorry I won't pay those prices. One it's at a casino where they can give two shits about music it's all about gambling. Two and if you need to stay over which I don't the rooms are $500 bucks a night for a bed. Bullshit. I scored two fourth row seats for Jimmy Buffet in Philly and reserved parking for under $350. The whole day food drinks and tickets gas etc. will be under $5oo dollars. I think my max will be about $175 FOR A TICKET, ANYTHING OVER THAT IS OUTA CONTROL. lATER YOSTARAMA

  • Last week i saw Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton. the tix were $296 with all the fees. considering that they only played 3 shows and had to rehearse (which takes time and money) rent an expensive arena (msg) rent the tour rig, etc., i don't think it was so expensive (doesn't hurt that i didn't pay myself).
    great shows though.
it would be cool to see eddie do something with winwood one day. their voices would blend amazingly.

IMO, these price of these solo tix are pretty fair. and we have been getting the best bargain for years at the price we pay for pj.

there are too many people on this board who question the band's integrity when those people don't get the best poster, or the cheap ticket, or a seat in the first few rows. it is just childish selfish behavior. be a man (or woman) and STFU.

Seriously you could fill a very large book with great lines by Paul Westerberg. The man is a genius.
