I remember all the songs we used to sing, the beatles, joni mitchell, folk, calypso, opera, many many artists that have created great songs.... in the future i see Ed in those pages.

seriously, pearl jam rules. pearl jam rules.
Pearl Jam is the greatest band of our generation. Noone is better, noone needs to be better, noone even needs to know pearl jam is the best. At least i know.

Lucky you. We used to do tunes like Hot Crossed Buns, Drill Ye Terriers Drill and other selected crap.

One time we did a tune to celebrate Arbor Day with a chorus that went "It's a tree, tree, tree-mendous day. Fantastic in every way"

Don't think we touched upon the Beatles catalog at all
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
  • Wasn't Hot Crossed Buns very similar to Three Blind Mice?

At any rate, when I was in 'band', I used to fake it. I faked for years - grade six to grade ten...I faked the flute. I have no idea how to read music. And I didn't want to play the flute...

I had "Running bear running bear, little running bear. Big black Indian Hiyaya hiyaya, little running bear."

Wouldn't have that these days in this politically correct world.

my 12yr old has a fantastic guitar teacher - he'll teach him vintage metallica, zeppelin, acdc, cream - but he'll also teach him anything riley takes in - pearl jam, aussie acts like john butler, regurgitator, betchadupa - anything he hears and says - 'i like the guitar in that!' (hardly ever the lyrics  )
it's the riffs that grab him :)
