Happy 20th Anniversary Auckland New Zealand!!
03/24/95 – Mt. Smart Super Top: Auckland, New Zealand [135m]
attendance: 13,000
support act: The Dead Flowers
set: Throw Your Arms Around Me, Oceans, Last Exit, Spin the Black Circle, Tremor Christ, Corduroy, Elderly Woman, Lukin, Animal, Glorified G, Daughter/W.M.A., Rats, Go, Jeremy, Rearviewmirror, I Got Shit, Not for You, Immortality, Alive, Blood, Better Man, Porch, History Never Repeats, I Got You
notes: The crowd begins smashing forward, even before PJ takes the stage. Ed takes the stage alone with his guitar and says he wants to start off real slow and for everyone to stay calm, playing ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me.’ The rest of PJ take the stage and, still trying to keep things calm, play ‘Oceans,’ but this crowd is fired up and packed in tight. Neil and Tim Finn, formerly of the Split Enz, join PJ for covers of their songs, ‘History Never Repeats’ (later released as one of the cuts on the ’95 fan club discs) and ‘I Got You,’ much to the pleasure of this New Zealand audience.

Not sure which night it is from Auckland, but check out the soundcheck that's in the "Unspoken Tour Movie". It's really beautiful.
Also features a lot of sheep on the stage while the band is soundchecking.

    Mental. :)

I didn't have a lot to compare it to at the time, but I still have a fond place in my heart for it. I'm forever grateful to my school friend who agreed to go with me, because I probably wouldn't have gone on my own, and I'm very glad I went! :D

I'm with Baz. first Pearl Jam gig for me. From memory my view was a bit shit due to the way the Supertop was set up (imagine a big top tent erected on a disused car park), and being shortish, but dude it was intense. Pity the only recording of it is rubbish, but it is what it is.
