    I was wondering, regarding Rio show, how to get from Maracana to Ipanema area after the concert.
    I read somewhere that there´s no public transport after midnight, is that right?

    and if u get to botafongo,then u can take a taxi to ipanema
    i belive pj will be on stagte around 8:30..so 11:30 we will be out at the metro..and its a big event..the logic says will have some extra train for the night

    Great! thaks for the info, and yes, you´re right, it´ll probably be 60.000 out all at once.
    La Plata will be a whole different story, last two shows here ended past midnight, everyone should arrange transportation in advance...

    When PJ played Rio in 2011 on a Sunday night at the Apotese sambadrome, the Metro was not running by the time the show ended. We tried to get a cab to Cinelandia but this was deemed too close as the taxi drivers were looking for fares to Copacabana and beyond so we ended up having to walk back to our hotel - no fun with no map

    Can any locals advise re public transport these days on a Sunday night

    Sunday metro has different hours than rest of the week..
    i think will be fine...usually there is always a mess at the retyurn.,.especially if u are in italy!!!
