I had to fly to colombia for work before my stones store blue vinyl showed up at my house.  I am trying not to listen to anything until I get home and can put it on the record player.

I'm a few listens in now. Considering the stage they're at in their lives and career, it's a really strong album. Commercial and radio friendly but the songs are good and Mick sounds incredible considering he's 80 years old. I think "Live By The Sword" is my favourite track on the album.

It's very good.  I'm not sure there is a "Gimme Shelter" level song, but every one is pretty damn good

I need further listening, but I like all the songs so far.  I wish I could get this excited about some of my other favorite bands more recent albums like Gigaton, Barn, Walk Around The Moon etc.  I can see myself listening to this one for years off and on and still enjoying it.

Some new favourites include Angry, Bite my Head Off, Live by the Sword and Get Close. All in all it feels like a really complete album with a few nice twists and turns just to keep it interesting.

  • I was listening to Bite My Head Off the other day and was trying to think of another Stones song in their history where Mick cussed like a sailor like he does in this one.  Maybe someone more familiar with their deep cuts can chime in.  But I find it amusing that at 80 years old, he decided to not GAF and go full potty mouth. lol

  • I've been listening to Whole Wide World a bunch lately. Just can't believe these guys are 80 and put out an album that rocks this much. Can't imagine what it must have been like in that recording studio with the Stones and Paul McCartney jamming together. Crazy stuff.

Try 'Some Girls' if you never heard it. Good one. My bro was a big stones fan and I remember being shocked by this one as a kid. Not littered with the f bomb.

Yah there's a rumour they're going to play BC Place in Vancouver.  There's also a maple leaf in that Video. I guess it would make sense as they weren't able to make up the missed 2020 date.

I'm good, got to see the stones in Seattle 2018.  We paid 400 USD for decent tickets (if we shelled out $100 more we would of been in the pit).  I can only imagine how much good tickets would cost post covid :(

^^^Thanks Vant as I was about to go there and check out the Rumors^^^

I get why they'll be playing in Stadiums but I'm not crazy about going to see them in such LARGE Venues.

But, after listening to their latest album I said that I wanted to see them again. I know most of us have been saying(for Decades-LOL): "this May Be The Last Time they Tour so I better go see them just in case".

I’m having a hard time deciding where we will go.  IORR rumors are usually very solid, with most of the dates and locales being pretty accurate.

go early to ensure you see them?  Pick the coolest location?

We had tickets for Rose Bowl show in 2018, and Mick’s heart thing postponed that.  My daughter’s bday is near LA shows now, so I’m thinking maybe out East?

If you can get Lucky Dip tickets, those are the best deal imo. They usually run around $100 for a pair but the catch is you have to buy a pair and you don't know where your seats are until you pick up your tickets at the box office the day of the show and they could be anywhere in the venue. First time I got them for the Zip Code tour I got nosebleeds, but the last tour in Minneapolis I got pit tickets.

Also, if you read the IORR tour thread, there are photos of Tongue logos outside venues, which is what they did prior to recent tours.  So I think it’s pretty certain something is imminent…

Agree IORR is normally spot on. I've been following it since 50 and counting and it's almost always right -- similar to Dimi's leaks the week before a PJ tour.   I'd bet money the list is 90-100% accurate.

They're opening the tour less than 3 miles from my house so  I'll go to that one (and one other).  But I'd say go to a show towards end of the tour. More variety and they'll be kicking in full gear.

How does that work now that most venues don't do printed tickets?

When you pick up your tickets at the box office they give you an envelope with printed tickets inside.

still.. even for venues/concerts that are only digital tickets now?
