Happy 20th Anniversary 03/08/95 Adelaide Australia

in The Porch
Happy 20th Anniversary to another fantastic show in Adelaide Australia!
03/08/95 – Memorial Drive Tennis Centre: Adelaide, Australia [125m]
attendance: 9,000
support act: The Meanies
set: Release, Last Exit, Spin the Black Circle, Tremor Christ, Animal, Corduroy, Not for You/Lukin, Even Flow, Glorified G, Daughter/(The Real Me)/(Is There Anybody Out There)/(ABitW-II), State of Love and Trust, Alive, Whipping, I Got Shit/Rearviewmirror, Why Go, Jeremy, Go, Blood
enc 1: Sonic Reducer, Once, I Got You (short), Better Man, Immortality, Porch
enc 2: Indifference
notes: After PJ tears through the first four songs, Ed cracks, “The wind’s blowing this way and I just wanna say you smell great” (referencing the herbal odor that night). He introduces ‘Corduroy’ as, “This song’s about a jacket.” A modified snippet of ‘Outshined’ (“looking California, feeling like Australia”) leads to “Glorified G.” A bit of Pink Floyd’s ‘Is There Anybody Out There’ is merged into the post-’Daughter’ improvs. Ed’s a capella, halting version of ‘I Got You,’ a song by the New Zealand band Split Enz, is short and he acknowledges that that’s as much of the song as he knows. During a number of the songs mid-set, the stage crew lobs a tennis ball back and forth over the heads of the band, while they play!
The unofficial silver pressed bootleg I have of this show is called "Alive In Oz".

with the redeveloped adjacent adelaide oval, i think we've seen the last of the big concerts there which is a shame.
