What am I?
an ancient train
meandering though
the fog of my past?
No.
That wasn't a nightmare to behold
not really any night in a gown
high as a dove
summer wind as my escape
sitting in my kitchen
that barely evening
just one night from ago
dark out
but early
& there was snow
& it was on
It was probably
nothing to my mother
but me being a child
& everything was new
so a deck of cards
folded longways to form dominoes
through a house with a not strange
light off
was all it takes
to remember
such a small thing
43 years later (less me)
But it was magic
Hello. it was magic
to which only you compare

poem hi
(see the vvaving ready for a nap)
"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
Chief Joseph - Nez Perce
