They will save the 8-7 piece as overall #s to help with standings/ tie breaks and things like that I believe but it is meant to be a winner take all battle every week, as it is with the vast majority of H2H leagues.
I don't like the way it is doing whip. It is not weighted at all for innings pitched. You could add a few specialist relievers who only face one or two batters a game and win that stat just based on that. I get that this is standard but seems shitty.
No one cares what you think
See, by replying you are implying I care what you think. You are wrong.
How is your first week going Empty? Still winning 8-5?

Do all fantasy baseball match-ups come down to which guy has more starting pitchers going that week? We play where our match-ups are weekly. And I lost this week simply on the fact that three of his starting pitchers had two starts this week and only one of mine did. It fucking sucks and that's all wins and losses in our league is based on.
Most leagues are that way, it should even out if you have the same number of SP. If you have a bunch of useless benched hitters than you are always going to face more SP if the other team carries useable players vs a bunch of bench hitters. I was wrong about the way if scores, it looks like it counts your wins, losses, and ties in the standings. Only time it is a winner take all deal is in the playoffs.

Yeah like next week I'll probably have more pitcher starts than my opponent. But I dunno, compared to fantasy football (which I like way more), it seems way too luck based. Like, the amount of games a team has that week, as well as rain-outs, matters a lot. A real lot.
I don't think it is luck, I think it is strategy. Far, far more strategy involved in a 162 game season than in a 16 game season. While I like watching football better every day of the week, I much prefer Fantasy Baseball to Fantasy Football. I would argue that Football is more about having a great draft and being lucky than Baseball, where with such a long season & so many players there is real opportunity to watch the games and use what you see to play fantasy GM and improve your team. I think with Football in order to get better you need injuries (luck) or to take advantage of a shitty owner in your league through trade. If you don't draft well, you don't play well. Best part is there are all sorts of leagues, so you could either start or find a league where there is a strict Starts Limit for SP and that will do away with your objection.

Maybe that's something I can pitch to the league I'm in for next year. Can that be done on ESPN? I only play in this league because these guys asked me to and since I love fantasy football, I thought I'd give it a chance. So it's not like I'd ever seek out another league over this gripe, but if I could propose we change our league, that'd be cool.
So the league does use the category counts for the standings. Different than I thought it would be. Also happy about the rain outs last week as I will have Price and my aces going twice this week.

Empty still in last, Ani first in his division. The world is alright for at least today. I am sure my team in first won't last long but for now I will enjoy being at the top of the standings.

Playoffs are when it matters. I still say Eric and I end up in the finals again.
My pitchers aren't the best -- but they will be better than they are now.
Your pitchers are excellent -- your ROI on those two shit pushers from the Nats has been nothing short of miraculous. If they can continue to throw like aces you will be awfully tough to get past for Eric in the playoffs.
