The weather stinks in seattle. I'll stay in the south and dodge hurricanes.

No: you'd have to be out of your flipping mind to do something like that
I'm Canadian and I don't think I'm in a profession that would make it easy to get a green card. Not to mention I like living in Canada. That being said I probably live the closest a Canadian could live to Seattle without being in the United States (I think Victoria is about 130km (80ish miles) away from Seattle in a straight line. Unfortunately it takes about 5 hours to get there (by car) when you add up the driving and ferry.

    Never visited Seattle.

Being from Vancouver, i think the weather is just fine in Seattle. :)
I would never move somewhere just because of a band or a music scene, but I wouldn't mind living in Seattle if life somehow lead me to it just because it's a nice city.... I'd way rather live in NYC though.

Yes: but it had nothing to do with the band

The weather actually isn't miserable in Seattle, the Summers are gorgeous, same with Spring and the Fall. In the winter in rains instead of snows for the most part.

    Couldn't agree more...
even the rainy season in Seattle is better than all the snow & bitter cold we get here in the Mid-west!!!
AND when all of the mountains are "OUT"
it's one of the most beautiful places on EARTH.
Mt. Rainier STILL takes my breath away, every time I see it!!!
