I just watched the movie "Kill The Messenger."The true story about Newspaper Reporter Gary Webb who broke the story about the CIAs drug running in the 90s thru Nicaragua.
Crazy shit.Basically the US govt funded and ran operations that led to the crack cocaine epidemic in the 90s.And how some believe it was targeted at the black community.Mind blowing stuff.All tied in to the Contras.Jeremy Renner stars.
It was a eye opening movie for sure.I recommended it to those who are interested.

I'm a big Jeremy renner fan. Loved hurt locker, ya must be shocked a Muslim liked that movie. I liked it. Some parts were pretty deep. Gonna have to check this out RR. Sounds pretty good

90's lol? It was the EARLY 80'S....The whole story was about the origins of the crack epidemic and what the U.S. Government had to do with that.. while also fighting a "war on drugs."
I read the book a long time ago and knew it was def. be made into a movie. Finally came out and liked the movie a lot. It gets at the basic points of the book in 2 hours. I was pleasantly surprised by Nothing as it Seems towards the end of the movie.

Yes I should have worded that a little different.The story from Webb broke in 96. The fall out from the story and the whole black community response was also in the 90s.But yeah Reagan was in office when it was all going down.
