The most popular band no one has heard about

is often how the band Dispatch is described. I am kind of annoyed that the MSG Saturday night 7/11/15 show with John Butler Trio (another great band) is sold out. If anyone knows anyone that has two lower level or GA tickets I would gladly buy them. They don't have their own forum to ask for tickets so I figured I would try a place that has a vast amount of people with various musical interests. I tried during the pre-sale and the regular sale and could not pull up anything. The Friday night show with Dr. Dog still has nose bleeds available but I really want to go Saturday night. I just get annoyed that when I tell my friends that I like Dispatch that they say "who" yet I couldn't even score two seats to a pretty large venue. At least when I tell my friends I like Pearl Jam they say "Oh, I have heard of them, are they still together"? Thanks for reading.

Good luck, events like these are when I get sad I no longer live outside of NYC! Dispatch are a terrific band who I'm dying to see live. I hope you get a ticket! Have you tried social media? Reach out via Twitter or Cashortrade? Or join the event on FB and look/ask for tickets there?

Thanks. I don't do FB or Twitter and wouldn't even know how to begin. I looked on Stub Hub and the tickets weren't outrageous but they were still over double (Approx $165) for decent seats. I will check out the Cashortrade as I've never heard of them. Thanks again. On a side note I saw Chad Stokes in December 2014 at the Bowery in the Lower East Side and Pete Francis showed up and they did Bang Bang together. The place was so tiny. I wish they would just play solo shows in the city and just do guest appearances as them separately is even more obscure than them playing as Dispatch.

Ha... I had no idea these guys were still around. I used to listen to them in high school and the beginning of college but that was about it. Their live Cd All Points Bulletin was pretty good.

Pretty sure most of my NY friends and people from the Boston area were really into them. I think they are big up that way.

I've seen their show at some arena that keeps getting played on Palladia. I'd never heard of them, but I'm watching these guys in an arena and EVERYBODY knows every lyric to every song.

  • It's funny that there is a thread about this band. I'd never heard of them either until I watched the movie Downloaded last week and they were mentioned in the movie about how they got popular on Napster back in the day.

That was the Red Bull Arena. I was there. The place was packed. They also played a free show in Boston at the Hatch Shell and the crowd was estimated at 166,000 people. They had to shut streets down there were so many people. They are an enigma. If you asked 100 people who Dispatch was you would probably get like three people who have heard of them yet they are selling out MSG and packing other places. That being said, I still need two tickets to the 7/11/15 sold out MSG show. And on a side note, they are huge into charities and have service projects before every show if people are interested in helping out.
