I've been reading up on and listening to some very cool Japanese avant-garde/progressive rock (or whatever you want to call it) bands lately such as Boris, Makoto Kawabata/Acid Mothers Temple and Keiji Haino. Some really incredible stuff out there!
Any fans? Others like these you're into?

Is this the same "Boris" that was with Sun O)))? I know they put out some great stuff together if that is the case.
This was good. I enjoyed it. Nice chops on the guitar.0 -

Seems I've read somewhere there's a Boris/Sun O))) connection but I'm not sure. Will have to look into that.
Here's another amazing Japanese avante-rock band, Acid Mothers Temple:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7888r_vKX4

I've seen Boris do their own show once and one show with Sunn O))). Both were excellent. The album that Boris and Sunn O))) did together is called Altar and is really good. I've seen Acid Mothers Temple 3 times and love their music. I've seen another great Japanese band called Ghost and recommend their music too. As for older Japanese music I recommend checking out Flower Travellin' Band.Post edited by Yefa onYou see me empty, Sir, do not pause and inquire, simply assume and refill.
