Blues Traveler first four albums Ltd Vinyl

Anyone have theirs yet?
The band’s first four albums will be given the premier Brookvale Records treatment as brand new 2-LP sets, including remastered audio, beautiful all-new jackets, and two color options including a multicolor variant and an audiophile-grade 180-gram black vinyl variant. Each colored variant will be limited to 750 individually-numbered copies, while the 180-gram variants will be limited to 250 individually-numbered copies. Each LP comes encased in a poly-lined sleeve.
I took the plunge and ordered all four on coloured vinyl, plus Save His Soul and Travelers And Thieves on black vinyl just for good measure. It Cost me an arm and a leg for shipping, plus the tanking Canadian dollar is going to make this a very expensive purchase.

  • I wonder if they got the original masters to make this? If not then you might as well just own the CD huh?

They did a Korn record too.

Let me know how it sounds!

Pretty cool. Also would be interested in the quality. A bit pricey though

I received mine last week. I got the colored set. Only listened to the 1st one so far sounds goods. It's supposed to be taken from the masters. I did the preorder for $100. I see they're listed for $150 now.

I friggin loved their early stuff, but $40 and album or $150 for the four? When it was $100 for the four it was a definite great deal, but I'm having a tough time justifying paying high prices for all these releases.

Kind of feel like people are exploiting the current vinyl resurgence. Also, why is the black vinyl the same price as the colored vinyl?

The black are 180 gram and the colored are not.

Even if they did use original masters, which I'm sure they did, they will still be digital masters, not analog, except the first one which was the only one to legitimately make it to vinyl originally I believe

That said, I've got the black vinyl versons on the way \:D/

I thought they were both on 180 gram? I thought the same price was because there are only 250 black but 750 splatter

Do you know if they used pro tools in recording those first 4 albums?

  • BEWARE: I have brutal distortion on my black copy of "Save His Soul" side C, Track 3 (NY Prophecies).

If anyone else finds this track, or any other, distorted, please post here. I read somewhere that the reason that these releases were delayed so long was that they were having trouble pressing these without audio distortion L-)
