I think I might know the answer to this question but what are your thoughts about this? I wonder if the R will use this to try to recruit more Cuban Americans to their party?

I'm not sure if either party will benefit from this action. Interesting question.

I'm very biased on this issue. One of my best, dearest and longest standing friends is U.S. born but half Cuban and for her to be able to travel to see her relatives in that country (and visa versa) is terrific. My own view is that knowing her joy alone (and that this will bring many others great happiness) makes this a fine thing.

Couldn't Americans travel to Cuba with permission from the government before this?

So what gives the government the right to tell its citizens where they can travel to?

Yeah but OH the hoops to jump through. It's been a major major hassle for my friend up until now.

I'm not positive, but if I went to another country and tried to fly to Cuba, there shouldn't be any issues unless Cuba had a problem with me being born in the greatest country in the history of mankind.
