That is so weird. I never heard of an Occupational therapist until yesterday. My Dad had to see one recently. My mom referred to him/her as an O.T. and I said what's an O.T.? She didn't explain exactly what they do, though. What exactly do you do??

Shit taker could also be the person in the parade following the horses and animals with a scooper, removing them so the poor marching band doesn't have to step in a pile. In some societies it might even be considered an honorable profession. I have no idea what country that might be as it sure as shit is not the US.

Amen to your mommy speech! Except the Taylor Swift part--jk.
I had considered OT my senior year in high school because I was in cross-country and that's what my coach did. He loved his job--very rewarding. Of course I went on to change my mind like 20 times or so, and am now unemployed. But if you count my husband, my son and my dog--there is never a dull moment--like you said in your speech.

Oh wow! How could I? Three kids in three different school. 3 different arrival and dismissal times. I spend way too much time running from one to the other and reading texts "I'm here, where are u?"The Waiting Trophy Man wrote: »shetellsherself wrote: »41 Occupational therapist.

Basically OTs help people regain function after injury, illness, surgery etc. We do arm and hand rehab as well as teach adaptations so that the person can continue to function with the skills they have or learn new ones. I work in home care so most of my clients are 80+ years old and their issues range from arthritis, fractures, strokes, cardiac, COPD, diabetis, joint replacements. I help them figure out how to do things as safely and independently as possible. It's the best feeling in the world to teach someone to do something they couldn't do before/ to help them see that they are capable of more than they thought. I have the best job in the world. (Also bc I drive around all day which gives me tons of time to listen to bootlegs). I'm not stuck in an office and I make my own schedule. The only drawback is waiting on my patients doorstep for multiple minutes in the freezing cold while they get up out of their recliners with their walkers to come and open it for me. From what I understand OT's do exercises with you so you can get back to daily living, such as stuff with your upper body. Whereas Physical Therapists concentrate on fixing your injury. That's just how I understand it from personal experience.
Leeze, I applaud your subtitling efforts. I don't watch a lot of foreign movies translated into English subtitles, but I do watch a lot of English TV shows and movies with subtitles and there are a few that have me scratching my head. Nothing is worse than when the subtitles are like 5-10 seconds off. I'm not deaf or hoh but for some reason I need to watch stuff with subtitles. It's like when someone is talking to me from the other side of the room, I need to put my glasses on so I can "see what they're saying" or else I genuinely do have trouble processing what was said.

I thought the physical therapists who worked with me for my back were amazing and beneficial; to help others with what sounds much more serious, must be a blessing for your patients (if that's the right term) - and, as you mentioned, for you as well.

pick up - Consider yourself having a fulltime job with that on your plate. Being a stay at home Mom is a fulltime job - you are not unemployed.

That's really cool then. It does seem like it would be a good concert. She really puts 110% into everything. Have a good time!
