The soft wind is moving thru the wheat fields
Carrying the memories of days gone by
Like a subtle whisper of mothers saying goodnight
Saying prayers for their children as she blows out the light.

The sounds of swinging gates and owls that move in the night
Create the silence of home for these hungry eyes.

In her eyes of sadness burns a light
Something old something borrowed nothing new
just the promise’s left behind and nothing else to do.

Glowing like the burning ambers smoldering in her heart
She holds the secretes of a thousand stars in the miles we stand apart
But thru the miles and all that shines moving thru the wheat fields
I feel her heart burning inside mine.

And when the rain falls it brings a sense of sunlight
A warmth within her heart
Something she gives for free.

Everything that comes to pass has rested here inside this burning heart
The ambers of love and loneliness have turned into a fire
Burning deep inside these hungry eyes
And in a warm glow she smiles.
