This is first year in awhile that my kid's spring break is not at least one weekend of Coachella... and looking at this lineup, I am MORE THAN OK with that. There may be some great bands that I just don't know about on the smaller lines of this lineup, but there are hardly any bands on the first few headliner lines that I would be excited to see. Mostly looks like a big snooze (a big EXPENSIVE snooze) but maybe I just don't know all the awesome up and coming bands on the lower levels...

Lot of EDM VH1 mediocrity blandness. No thanks.

As Coachella gets underway this weekend, I'm looking forward to what Goldenvoice might potentially have up their sleeves next. McCartney, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Roger Waters on one bill?!?! That would be nuts.

I've been to Coachella around 12 times;  never have I felt as much disconnect as I do with this year's line-up.  I guess the festie is evolving, and my musical taste is staying the same!

Man i'm out of it.. I've heard of maybe 10 of these artists.  What happened to me?

    this lineup is bonkers good!!
  • Man, I would totally take my chopper from Malibu to Indio and get stage-side for the RATM show.
    Awesome!

(That is about the only way I would attend.  Not interested in any of the other bands.  The people who get to see Rage?  Envious, hope you love it!)
The love he receives is the love that is saved
  • Cool for those that love this! I don't recognize 90% of these bands!

When I heard RAGE is going, I impulsively bought tickets. I have always wanted to go. I planned to go previously, bought tickets, but sold them due to the lackluster lineup. This lineup isn't amazing for me, BUT there are some good artists and I am sure by the time April comes around I will have done homework on some lower level bands (Idles & Murder Capital) and be pumped to see them. I wouldn't pay to see Travis Scott by himself, but will definitely check him out here. Anyways, 100% going due to Rage and will be staking out the main stage a few shows in advance to get a good spot! Hoping Run the Jewels is before them for a wicked 1-2 punch.

42 year old me has no idea who 90% of these artists are and zero desire to go. Now, if I was 20 years old, I’m assuming I’d be all over this. So goes getting older.

I can see Zach joining in on some Run the Jewels songs.

I've heard of maybe 25% of the bands.

I know I am old when I don't know 1/2 of the second line acts!

I think some of it is a west coast thing. Boston Calling booked a light version of that last year and hoooooooo boy did it not sell. So much so that this year is Foo Fighters and Chili Peppers.

Sounds like the solution is for you guys to check out more of these artists.

Are most of them dance/pop/electro/hip hop or whatever? If there are a couple good rock bands in the mix, by all means throw out some recommendations.

Yep, heard of ten of those artists.  I am out of touch.

Nah...I think music is just more fragmented now. I thought this year's Psycho Las Vegas lineup was amazing. How many of those bands would Coachella kids recognize? And it's not a niche fest - they draw 12k per day.
