Pre Sale ticket Expiereinces

I have been a life long PJ fan and just recently joined ten club. This question is for long term members..... After trying to get PJ tickets multiple times through standard ticket purchasing the day they come out and being unsuccessful, i have always had to buy them through second hand vendors like stubhub. Im hoping that now I am a member of ten club, this really pays off next time they come to Chicago or the Midwest through the ten club pre sale. What has been your experience getting pre sale tickets? Are my chances greater getting GA tix where I can camp out to get a great spot in the crowd. Ive dreamed of standing on the rail but I know that's pretty unrealistic.

    Welcome to the club!

It's not a presale in the way that other bands do presales, but rather a lottery. The way they've done the last few tours is you sign up for which shows your interested in, ranking them as your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc choices. They also split GA from reserved. So, you can rank GA for one city 1st, and reserved for the same city 2nd, for example. You can rank them in any order you like. If you'd win GA for a certain city, your dropped from the reserved lottery pool (so you're not stuck with 2 sets of tickets), and vice versa.
Once you sign up, it's just luck of the draw. But be careful and only sign up for as many shows as you can afford. If you put in for all of them, and win all of them, you'll be charged for all of them. It is possible to win one show, multiple shows, or none at all. For each show you win, you get a pair of tickets. If you win reserved, your pair will be seated together.

    My experiences:
In 2013 I only signed up for Pittsburgh reserved and got it.
In 2014 I signed up for St. Paul GA, St. Paul reserved, Cincinnati GA, & Cincinnati reserved, ranked in that order. I won St. Paul GA.

    Hope that helps!

Thats awesome, thanks for the advice. Did you end up getting close to the stage for the st.paul show? How long where you camped out? Thanks again!

We were towards the back of GA, but we did that on purpose so we could move around a little. Didn't camp out, just went to the arena around 7pm. We definitely could've been closer to the stage than we were. It was maybe 7-10 ppl deep when we got there, but we stayed back and let others file in. Still had an unbelievable view.
In Cincinnati, the guy who was first in the GA line was behind me in the merch line and I believe he said he queued up around 3 or 4am, but others didn't show up til about 8.

Just to give you a visual:

I only joined in the beginning of 2013, but i'd been to several shows prior to that. I never bought tickets on Stub Hub so idk if you were making sure to buy good seats etc. but the nosebleed seats I was getting from ticketmaster sales don't even remotely compare to the 10c tickets. I prefer GA but I've never done the camping out thing for the rail. If you walk in when the doors open you can still get a nice spot on the side - if you stay in the back of the "pit" as the GA area is known you can still get a nice view over everyone's heads, and still have some space to breathe.

  • I've gone to two GA shows now (Buffalo, and Detroit), and it's been a great experience. Never lined up, just arrived round 7pm and both times I was about 5-7 rows back centre. F'n awesome!
