My goal is to run three miles non-stop this year.

Does anyone else have 2015 running goals or exercise goals?

I got a new Fitbit Charge for Christmas and basically looking to get healthier. I'm no runner but I certainly may try. Two days with this thing and I'm obsessed....Looking for stairs to climb and trying to up my steps every few weeks.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

I need to sit down and figure out my fitness goals. I'm just not sure what's next as I've come a long way and am happy with where I am and not sure what I'm capable of next. I'd love to run a 5k under 30 minutes but not sure my knees can take it. My fastest 5k was 32 minutes and I was about 10 lbs heavier and no where near the shape I'm in now. I'd love to be able to do more push-ups (more than 5 haha). This next week will take some thought to define more goals.

I'm a spin bike kinda girl and ride at least 6 days a week. I take a day off when my body screams loud enough to force me to take a break. I've got the cardiopulmonary fitness to blow the less than 30 minutes 5k out of the park. It's my knees that might not take it. The bike is so much lower impact for the joints.

There's a New Years day 5k near my home. I was thinking about running it to get a baseline for where I am. There's also a special spin class I'd hate to miss that day. Have to choose between the two.

  • Before I got cancer in April or May of this year I was running my 5k races right at the 18 minute mark but part of that was the fact that I was going faster because I was already losing weight. Now that I'm cancer free and back to running I would like to make it back to a sub 19 5k by late March and a sub 1:30 half by October. I feel stronger than before cancer so I think it's possible.

Congrats on being cancer free! Running a 5K is pretty impressive.

I would like to run 500 miles this year which is just under 10 miles per week. If I do a 3-5 mile run every other day (and have a week or two off during vacation), I think 500 miles is a possibility. I would also like to run a 5K in under 21 minutes.

Yes! Being healthier and much more active is on my to-do list. I just got some nice workout gear (quality water bottle, some nice UnderArmor & New Balance shirts) for the holidays, and treated myself to some sweet new Nikes. So no excuses!

Running has never been my thing--even when I was younger and played sports 5 days a week, I was STILL the slowest of the pack when it came to running drills and such. And at the gym, I'd focus on the ellpitical and bike for cardio. So if I can improve just a little bit when it comes to running, it'll be a major accomplishment.

I've always had issues with motivation and sticking to things (like this summer when I said I'd go to the track a couple days a week, did it once, and never did it again), so basically not giving up will also be an accomplishment, as horribly sad as that sounds. It's daunting but it's time to not be so damn sedentary!

And then I'm going to run up the stairs at the Philadelphia museum like Rocky Balboa.

I've done that and it was fun.... It took me a while and I was huffing and puffing but I def. took the time to do the arm pump and the twirl around :-)

He's not called Sly for nothing!

I wish my boobs and back would allow me to run (despite the underwater effect in my dreams). Seems like it'd be a great release.

Met my goal for today. When I focused on the music and not the mileage the run was more enjoyable.

^^^ great job! Music always pushes me through. I love starting a run to not for you and ending with alive. Throw some RVM and severed hand in there somewhere too! As soon as the ice melts I'm outside running again. My kids want to run the annual mothers day 5k with me. My oldest and middle usually do. This works fine bc they are big enough to run the race without me by their side the whole time. The little one (7yo) wants to run it this year too. I'll have to stick with him. It'll be fun "training" with them on the track and then being with my son at the finish line will be a trip!

    Now go away ice!

So.. Now that I have recovered from the flu.. There is a hill on my block that is 250 ft long at 8% grade. I'm going to start walking that hill to prepare for The Incline...

So how's everybody doing on those fitness goals? It's about that time of year when we tend to start to need a shift to keep motivated. I'm in week 4 of the 100 push-ups program and am now able to do 18 push-ups in a row without stopping! I'm getting some nicely defined shoulders

tomorrow I'm running a charity 5k to benefit an organization that helps people with ALS and their families. I'm hoping to meet my goal of under 30 minutes. Cheer me on tomorrow morning between 9:00 and about 9:27 am eastern time!

Well done ladies it's great to read about your accomplishments. I've just finished the couch to 5k. So I can run 20 mins straight, next run I'm going to use runtastic to work out how far I can run!
