I didn't know that. Lame. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

yeah, they renamed it "essential Pearl Jam" but I have also seen recent copies called "Rearview Mirror" Totally weird. Threw me off for a second when I saw it titled "Essential." Thought maybe they added more songs or something, but it's the same.PJ: 10/14/00 06/09/03 10/4/09 11/15/13 11/16/13 10/08/14

It's the same. Never got a chance to pick it up. :bz0

It's the exact same thing!! Lol0

They shouldn't have renamed it though because it generic-sizes (new word?) The album as it does all the other "Essential" albums that are out there for $4.99.
The essential .38 Special
The essential Pretenders
The essential Hall & Oates
etc, etc.
Not that I mind any of the bands, just cheapens the album. I even think "Greatest Hits" sounds cheap. Rearviewmirror fits the album in my own opinion.Soldier Field, Chicago, IL 7-11-1995; United Center, Chicago, IL 6-29-1998; MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV 10-22-2000 ~PJ10~; Pepsi Center, Denver, CO 4-1-2003; Cricket Pavilion, Phoenix, AZ 6-7-2003; United Center, Chicago, IL 6-18-2003; Alpine Valley, East Troy, WI 6-21-2003; Fox Theatre, St. Louis, MO 10-5-2004; The Gorge, George, WA 9-1-2005; United Center, Chicago, IL 5-16-2006; United Center, Chicago, IL 5-17-2006; Pepsi Center, Denver, CO 7-2-2006; Pepsi Center, Denver, CO 7-3-2006; United Center, Chicago, IL 8-23-2009; United Center, Chicago, IL 8-24-2009; Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC 12-4-2013; Key Arena, Seattle, WA 12-6-2013; iWireless Arena, Moline, IL 10-17-2014 ~No Code Show~; Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul, MN 10-19-2014; Bradley Center, Milwaukee, WI 10-20-2014 ~Yield Show~; Pepsi Center, Denver, CO 10-22-2014 ~PJ24~: Wrigley Field 1 & 2, 2016; Safeco Field, Seattle Home Shows 1 & 2; Wrigley Field, Chicago Away Shows 1 & 2....0 -
Totally agree. That a really great album title was inexplocably changed to a shitty, boring, generic, bargain bin title is surprisingly annoying. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

I always wanted to name my first album "greatest hits" when I used to play in a garage band. Thought it would be cool.0

I love the Essential series. Cheap way to pick up a lot of good songs. Hall and Oates one is great.0

So does this mean I can flip my RVM copy on ebay for $199.99??!!Charlottesville 2013
Hampton 20160 -
When I had a 'band' in college, we wanted to name our record Steal this record... Oddly SOAD eventually named one of their albums, Steal This Album!! Weird coincidence!0
