I have some friends who are bluegrass musicians and aficionados and used to go to Telluride every year for the bluegrass festival.

They don't go anymore because they feel that it is less about the bluegrass and more about the selling of beer and food and whatever old rocker they can book.

They much prefer to attend RockyGrass or The Folks Fest in Lyons.

That being said I love visiting Telluride and try to get out there for a few days at least once every summer.

I've never seen sam bush and he's been there almost every year(he only missed one year). the initial line up has been announced and greensky bluegrass are on the bill, which is awesome news.
for sure I could see the festival changing through out the years, which is just natural. but after seeing who is coming this year i think it's still has a pretty solid foundation with the likes of sam bush band, bela fleck, ymsb, peter rowan, jerry douglas all there this year.

Telluride is the greatest place on Earth. Never been to the Bluegrass fest, but have been to Blues and Brews the last few years. Great time no matter what the lineup is.
