For those who saw Jack White how was the show you saw? I saw him at the Auditorium Theater and it seemed like he was pissed off (it was 2 days after an infamous picture of him at wrigley was all over the internet). He opened with icky thump but something must have gone wrong since the curtain closed after the song and when it came back up he as putting on a shoe (like he threw it in frustration). He babbled on so many random things like not being able to order lunch at the four seasons during tea time, or being born in the wrong decade (said he should have been born in the 1860s). Wasn't sure if it was an off night or this is just how his shows are

^^ My first thought too. I was at PJ Denver, it was pretty incredible show. Ive seen KOL before...and...well...uh...you really enjoyed that more than PJ Denver??

(Not trying to bust your balls here btw, just curious. I mean hell, someone else has a fucking Garth Brooks show ahead of PJ STL and I was at that one too.)

I can understand getting raked over the coals a little about my decision to place KOL ahead of Pearl Jam's Denver show… The KOL show had more - i dunno - "meaning" for me… It was an absolute perfect evening for me and my wife. I enjoyed the entire KOL set, front to back… I'm an unapologetic KOL fan, surely (not as much as Pearl Jam, but still…), and this was the first time I'd ever seen KOL live. My wife and I had such a positive experience at the Hold Steady and KOL shows (both bucket-list bands of ours)… We'd see them anywhere/anytime from here on out, if we could.

I had a very positive experience at the Denver PJ show… but they seemed kinda tired that night… Can't really put my finger on it… Eddie sounded a little "off"…? Our seats were just OK… It was an epic end to that tour, definitely, but I personally enjoyed the KOL show more.

Was just comparing personal experiences… Someone else could have seen the KOL show and Pearl Jam in Denver and have a completely opposite experience. My wife and I STILL look back fondly at the KOL show… We barely talk about the PJ Denver show…

Sorry guys…Just the way I sees it, thassall

    He never said that.

James has also begun the follow-up to his 2013 psych-folk solo album Regions of Light and Sound of God, sneaking in recording windows with friend and drummer Dave Givan for a 2016 release. "The whole Jacket thing is so much about us playing together and creating this circle of power," says the singer. "The solo record is more of a patchwork. It's like one person sitting there making a quilt as opposed to five people building a house at the same time."

The heart and care they put into every show is comparable to PJ. High energy, varied setlists, amazing songs, talented people. I've seen them four or five times by now, and will absolutely not miss a show if they're nearby! They're worth a shot if you've never seen them live. That's actually how I got into them, come to think of it...saw them at a festival, and needed to know more!

Well put. They are really talented musicians. They put on a fantastic show with a mix of old bluegrass sounding tunes to full on rock n' roll anthems. Its worth seeing if you get the chance.

The last couple of times I have seen social d, Ness just doesnt seem as into it.
5 yrs ago they were a band I would never miss. I saw them this yr in kalamazoo and it was just alright.

Worst concert year ever for me:
    1 - PJ - Cincy
    2 - 0
    3 - 0
    4 - 0
    5 - 0

Only live music I saw a full set from all year.
New baby in June so 1/2 the year was handling pregnant wife, 2nd half pregnant baby. Sneaking to Ohio was the best I could do.
As much as I hate pulling 1 concert all year if I can see PJ in any given year I am a happy man.
(Plus I have a healthy little 6 month old boy)

Ive seen Social Distorition some... 15 times or so? first time was back in 2000 at the catalyst in Santa Cruz. This years Vegas show was REALLY good, i thought, Ness really seemed to be digging the crowd and vice versa. But to me the BEST show i've ever seen them put on had to be last year at the House of blues in Hollywood, set list was great, the crowd was crazy, and the band really seemed to be channeling the crazy lol. I think it may not be that he isnt into it anymore, he's just getting older. Im seeing them again on New Years Eve, i'll keep this in mind and try to make out if he seems bored, or just tired lol!!

That Jack White Bonnaroo set was amazing! I am (im)patiently waiting on the boxed set with the DVD and the show on vinyl.

I saw him at Bonnaroo at it was one of the best live performances I have ever seen. To put it in perspective though, he was the night after Kanye, who pretty much just used his headliner slot to rail against the media and hype his own ego (shocker coming from Mr. West, I know). It seemed to light a fire under Jack White the next night who played an epic 3 hour set (I believe that was the first time he had done that). Was not a huge Jack White fan prior, but that show changed that real quick.

Watching DVD from Bonnaroo I got in his vault release right now and man is he on fire!!
So talkative and really long jamming versions of just about everything he played that full moon night. Also played "Astro" for 1st time since final White Stripes concert in '07.
Must have been amazing to be there!

Did you get to see one of Band of Horses' ACOUSTIC shows???
Definitely one of the BEST tours of the year!!

I did not unfortunately. They did open up with St. Augustine (Ben solo) and Part One acoustic, before going electric for the rest of the show. Those guys kill it live. The Acoustic Live At The Ryman album is phenomenal!
