SO I was talking with a friend at his (one of the last) local cd store and he said he got a CD in used that was pretty cool. He remembered that I love PJ so he just gave it to me for free. It was called Critters Buggin from about 1994.
Stone produced it (its also on loosegroove, and Matt Chaimberlain, who played with PJ early on, is the drummer. it's pretty cool stuff. very funky, I love the drums!
So I did a little search thinking that Chaimberlain must be kicking himself for leaving PJ, but that guy has been busy as shit!
Anybody else hear their other stuff? They've put out more albums up until a few years ago.

The risk I took was calculated, but man, am I bad at math - The Mincing Mockingbird
don't forget about 2 of the guys from Critters Buggin' (Sherik and the dude who plays xylophone) who also played in a great band called Garage A Trois, featuring none other than Mr. Stanton Moore on drums.
If you haven;t heard these guys, they are def worth the listen and available on archive.org
cheers!
Why contain yourself like any other book on the shelf?
Subtle voices in the wind hear the truth they're telling.
A world begins where the road ends.
Watch me leave it all behind.
