Never thought I'd see Cat Stevens perform Live, what a great time, I need to see the Cat again!
(His new tunes played really well, he was really jamming out!)
So happy you got to see him! I feel the same way... In spite of the price, I'd see him again in a heartbeat. Fantastic song after fantastic song, without an exception. Did he play I Was Raised in Babylon in Chicago too? That song gave me shivers the first time I heard it on the album, and in concert.
Thanks!
and He did! (Play 'Babylon'), The stage (lighting) turned red for it!...It's quite an intense tune. (I was familiar with his new album before the concert and really enjoyed the 3-4 songs he played off of it)
I mean the whole show was a highlight for me, as you said above ' Fantastic song after fantastic song'.
Father and son, Moonshadow, Peace Train, Miles from Nowhere, Trouble, Sitting (OMG he played sitting!) all sounded soooo good.
He played 'Take This Hammer' (Leadbelly cover), I think he mentioned that it was the first song he ever played on guitar, so hearing him perform that live was (for me) very special.
People Get Ready (Impressions cover), that melted me! I was on the floor for that, he busted out some of 'Foreigner Suite', I almost cried for that one! (I did cry the day after when thinking about it all)
Chicago Tribune write up on the show. (Not sure if you will be able to view it)

Honestly, I've met the boys, met all kinds of athletes, super stars and porno stars (yes, it's true) but I think if I ever met Yusuf Islam, I'd prob be speechless, and if you know me, that's fucken IMPOSSIBLE. If I ever see him perform live like you and Ben, it would be the most anticipated show for me ever. If I ever met him, forget it. This guys a fucken legend. Hands down. You lucky fuckers! Bravo!
I went to the show in Philly and I'd go see him again without hesitation. Security to get in was crazy and I'd make sure to get there earlier next time, but it was a fantastic concert.
