Eddie's best lyrics are phenomenal (even if his worst are abysmal), and his style of lyrical composition is amazing, which is why he takes it for me. My second pick would have been Jeff. I love the darkness and creativity of his style. He's my favorite side-project band member by a long shot.

Which Ed lyrics do you think are abysmal? Never had that reaction to an Ed composition although I agree that some lyrics are more profound than others.
There aren't many. Just a few (and IMHO). Ole. Unthought Known. The Fixer. A couple more, but I'd rather think about all his awesome lyrics, not the few I hate.

    Insignificance, for example. :)

Very difficult to choose, but mikes compositions have had deep emotional impact with me, given to fly, sirens, force of nature, marker in the sand and his masterpiece inside job. He's songwriting credits with Eddie have always been album highlights for me, particularly present tense and come back. But you can't really elevate any member above another each have written brilliant songs, without the jigsaw wouldn't be complete .
