Having my pets on their first Holiday.. This is Scooter's first Thanksgiving with me as his owner.. And he came from god knows what.. But we rescued him from the floods last year.. And now, he's staring out the back window, watching the smoke rose from the meat smoker, licking his lips. The dog has nearly forgiven him for her new stitches, and after 14 years of Thanksgivings, she KNIWS the treats that await her.. The cat has NO idea!!
This always makes me smile.. Especially when he gets his good tonight.. One lucky cat!!

Awesome! Happy turkey day to u and your family whispering!
Thank you BB, same to you and yours!

This place.. These boards.. ALWAYS make me smile. Ok sometimes they make me choke.. I have not yet learned to with hold from eating while perusing the boards.. Never fails.. I'll be chewing on some yummy morsel of food and someone posts something so funny I almost choke to death laughing!

On this morning of OFFI-cal giving thanks....

That sense of relief when waking from one of those feels-completely-real bad dreams and realizing all is well...then lifting my head and seeing the Beans (Cat #1) dozing on the pillow above me.

Knowing my sister - excellent cook - is prepping the meal today, and that it's just seven of us plus their Golden pooch.

All the good people here...may those celebrating the holiday have a beautiful one.

Today, my 88 year old grandma who can barely hear or see, while watching some high school marching band play Shake It Off during the Macy's parade, turns to me and says "They call that music?"

Leia, the polydactyly wonder kitty, is basically on a high protein, low carb diet. (Wellness cat food has resolved her issues.) It doesn't keep her from her nickname of "Hoover" when we're having dinner. You'd swear that she is a dog trapped in a cat body. We pull the chairs out to sit and she comes running to sit under the table to see what may fall to the floor.

I usually feed Sammy when I sit down for dinner...
she goes right to her bowl & pretty much leaves me alone to eat in peace!!
