Rami Jaffee

After seeing Rami on the first episode of Sonic Highways I looked up a bit more about him. Seems that some sources claim he worked with Pearl Jam at some point. Does anyone know in what capacity? Is he on any recordings? Touring member?

I don't think he ever worked with them, according to Discogs he was credited with writing one of the interludes in Immagine In Cornice

He contributed accordion on Immagine in Cornice, I think. LOVE Rami. Not sure what the deal is with him not being a full Foo, but I enjoy watching him perform. And such a nice (and kinda kooky) dude!

Oh wow, maybe that's more accurate :D Greg Richling (and Rami) used to be in The Wallflowers together. And Jack Irons was also briefly. All roads lead back to Pearl Jam!

Id like to take credit for it, but I did virtually nothing, The Google machine is a powerful force.

I see a few discussion on this now. I searched but I didn't scroll the page (!) and notice there were actually 3 pages of results. Oops! Interesting though, didn't know it. Thanks!

Haha, I think we're both right. I'm pretty sure he played accordion, now that on2legs mentioned Alive, that sounds right. Speaking of, I think I should leave work now and go pop this DVD on at home! My favourite PJ DVD :)

And while we are at it, another Pearl Jam connection; Rami frequently plays with Jonny Kaplan (Jonny Kaplan and The Lazy Stars, B!tch). Guess who drums with them? Dave Krusen! If you're in the LA area, defintely try to catch them. They haven't toured with the full band including Dave, but Jonny has been playing a bunch of solo shows everywhere and often with Rami.

    Rami Trivia:

His first job as a touring musician was with "EL Vez, the Mexican Elvis"

Dude has done stuff with EVERYONE. I mean, when your resume runs the gamut from Pearl Jam to Everclear to the Foo to Garth Brooks, you're in a pretty unique position.
