Moline AP arrived.... damaged.... ugh!!!

i could probably drymount it out, i'm framing it anyway, but still amazingly frustrating. any advice if i'm better off framing it without drymounting? i've got zero intention of selling the poster, but if something were to happen down the road i don't want to totally devalue the print if i don't have to.

    What damage does it have?

Contact invisible industries. Sometimes they keep extras in case something like this happens.

That sucks, mine was packaged better than any poster I've ever rec'd in the mail! The postman must have been trying really hard - what happened?

Contact them, they keep a few extras in case something like this happens....you'll have to provide them with pics tho!
Cant buy what i want cause its free....
  • the top of the poster tube was crushed, it was actually in a tube, which was in a triangular usps box as well.... so there's multiple wrinkles along the bottom. i emailed them and sent them some pics, so we'll see. my heart sunk when i saw the package.

Yeah ... definitely photograph the hell out of it. Inv-Ind ships in those stupid Priority Mail triangular boxes, which is a nice little extra level of protection. But the reason they do it is because that allows them to skimp on the tubes. They don't use Yazoo Mills tubes, which take a really, really, really strong effort to destroy. But if you've provided all the photographic evidence, they've got insurance on the poster through USPS simply by sending it Priority Mail. So they can get $50 back from the post office if they claim the damage, and then they can send you a new one ... HOPEFULLY WITH THE SAME NUMBER YOU ALREADY HAD.

Sorry ... that totally sucks. Nothing ruins a good mail day more than a poster tube arriving damaged.

Frankly, I'm amazed I've never gotten a damaged tube from 10 Club, because they use some of the lightest tubes out there.

See if Ian Williams would be agreeable to you potentially purchasing the poster from 10C then shipping it to him so it could be signed and numbered the same # as the damaged poster you'd mail back for a refund.

If you happen to get a new one and keep the old one, I would be interested in taking it off your hands... I don't mind a couple of creases, I just would love the poster :) Good luck on getting this resolved.

Wow that sucks....too bad this didn't happen to one of the flippers that already sold there's on ebay. Mine came last night and was very well packaged. Sorry to hear this.
  • These guys have been amazingly cool, they had me send them a bunch of pics including the number so they could replace it for me. we'll see how it shakes out, but thus far i've got no complaints (other than the damaged poster:))
