Was so lucky to stand right next to the band for Wilco's acoustic set at Bull Moose in Portland, Maine. Setlist- Misunderstood; The Joke Explained; War on War; Random Name Generator; I'm Always in Love; California Stars; and, A Shot in the Arm. No camera's (except for the BM staff one here!) and no crowd chatter....just pure Wilco. Awesome. "War on War" and "Misunderstood" really stood out for me.
I am looking for one Lawn ticket to the Sunday August 21/16 show in Chicago at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. If you have one for sale I would love to buy it. Thanks.

Anything you lose from being honest You never really had to begin with.
Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

Lol, yeah, that's a really good album title. I like this single because it suggests that this isn't going to be a very country-sounding album from them. I only like some of Wilco because of that country slant they take on too often. But this sounds like something else if this song is any indication of the rest of the album, which means I will probably like it.

Wilco was always my second love, I've gone between my first and my second for years, love the way they've been releasing material the last few years, no build up, just drops. To me, says it's about the music and not record sales

I agree, great album title. This single sounds like it could have come from their Star Wars record. I wonder if they pulled a Radiohead and record it all at once and released them a year apart.
Just noticed where the band 'Twin Peaks' is listed as their opener for the 8/21 Chicago show. Anyone know anything about them? Any recommendations on where to start listening to them?
autographed schmilco vinyl, star wars vinyl (for cheap) and poster book here http://fbuy.me/ecmAq . just search wilco. this link saves you $10 and gets me a credit. if this is against the rules (which i just read, doesn't seem to be), just lmk and i'll remove it. they've got schmilco socks, too.

Just a heads up, The Current, (89.3) is supposed to streaming their show in Mpls tonight. (Anyone out there able to record it so I can have a copy? I'm going, otherwise I would).

wish they'd do tomorrow's show instead. between trying to periscope wrigley, the last tragically hip show streaming on youtube, wilco on the current, and metallica on pandora, i won't know which end is up tonight.
Anybody have thoughts on Sunday's show? I'm a bit torn about how I feel about their new music and how mellow their shows seem to have become. Maybe it's seeing PJ the next night and unfairly comparing the two that makes me feel that way though. I was very happy to hear some Being There and even AM and Summerteeth but I'm not really liking the whole hootenanny thing to end the shows. I wouldn't mind there being a first encore and then coming out for a killer, rocking second encore. Who knows, I'm rambling and tired from traveling I suppose.

I've seen them live quite a bit, I didn't really like it much either. I don't mind accoustic stuff mid set or for first encore, but not how I would like shows to end.
Looks like a bunch of stores are having listening parties on for Schmilco on Sept 6th. May try to make it to Rough Trade!

Right, it just kind of ended I thought. Jeff didn't seem very talkative, either, especially for a hometown show. I've been to 20+ Wilco/Tweedy/JT solo shows and have definitely heard much more banter from him.

Yeah I noticed that too. Having said that, I did notice he seemed to have a big smile on his face the whole time. In any case, it wasn't my favorite show of theirs, but it was an incredible venue that's for sure.
Anyone not near a record store interested in getting the indie exclusive pink vinyl of Schmilco? Going to the listening party at my local store and can pick up a copy for you at my cost + shipping to you. PM me if interested.
