Force Of Nature is one hell of a song!

I actually kinda forgot about this song for a while, but now I love it. Might be my favorite off backspacer0
-
This song rocks, one day they will break it out again but they are going to make us wait and work for it. I imagine FON and Johnny Guitar are gonna be my Backspacer white whales which sucks cause I love them both.Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.
Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.0 -
I've seen them do "Supersonic" 3 of the 18 times it's been played. I'd gladly trade all three of them for one "Force of Nature".0
-
I'm keeping my "Speed of Sound" though...0

I wish this thread would've been started before the tour, so maybe it would've ended up on a setlist. Would've loved to hear this in Moline or MIlwaukee.6/29/98 Chicago-United Center

That and Amongst the Waves are about the only songs I listen to regularly from Backspacer.0
-
It's a good song. One of my favorites on 'Backspacer'. I've never seen it played live, but of the audio of live performances I have heard, it doesn't translate well from the album. The guitar effect in that song is so often used by The Edge of U2.0
-
As the name suggests, I agree. Would love to see it on more regular rotation0

I've posted this before but I will reiterate because I love this tune and here are the reasons:
1 - the quirky percussion by Matt
2 - the quirky solo into the chorus
3 - the bridge, "makes me shake...." is fricking awesome
4 - the solo as the outro
5 - the lyrics, what a picture they paint1998 ~ Barrie

Funny you mentioned alliteration. In grade eight I remember my teacher using the lyric "On a Freshly Fallen Silent Shroud of Snow"gettingright said:amazing. and i use it to teach alliteration in my lang arts class...SSSSomewhere thereSSS a SSSIren SSSinging a SSSong only he hearSSSS.
so, it's not just great, but educational, too
It was later we were told it was a lyric from The Song I am a Rock by Simon and Garfunkel. I always think of that line when I hear the word alliteration.
And I agree with the OP.

this song is great. it feels like the first truly catchy PJ song since Vitalogy. To me it's pretty the centerpiece of Backspacer.0
