    This song rocks, one day they will break it out again but they are going to make us wait and work for it. I imagine FON and Johnny Guitar are gonna be my Backspacer white whales which sucks cause I love them both.

    I've seen them do "Supersonic" 3 of the 18 times it's been played. I'd gladly trade all three of them for one "Force of Nature".

    I wish this thread would've been started before the tour, so maybe it would've ended up on a setlist. Would've loved to hear this in Moline or MIlwaukee.

    It's a good song. One of my favorites on 'Backspacer'. I've never seen it played live, but of the audio of live performances I have heard, it doesn't translate well from the album. The guitar effect in that song is so often used by The Edge of U2.

    1 - the quirky percussion by Matt
    2 - the quirky solo into the chorus
    3 - the bridge, "makes me shake...." is fricking awesome
    4 - the solo as the outro
    5 - the lyrics, what a picture they paint

    Funny you mentioned alliteration. In grade eight I remember my teacher using the lyric "On a Freshly Fallen Silent Shroud of Snow"

    It was later we were told it was a lyric from The Song I am a Rock by Simon and Garfunkel. I always think of that line when I hear the word alliteration.

    this song is great. it feels like the first truly catchy PJ song since Vitalogy. To me it's pretty the centerpiece of Backspacer.
