Allman Brothers Band Final Performance

I went to the Allman Brothers show at the Beacon Theater on Tuesday night. The band has been pretty clear that this was to be their final performance. What an amazing show! They played for close to four hours (show ended at 1:30 AM)! Gregg was in good shape and the whole band really brought the intensity. Warren and Derek were absolutely on fire. If you are a fan of ABB, I highly recommend buying the release of this show.

They've been replaying this on Sirius. Gregg sounded great, and the whole show was incredible. He sounded too good for this to be the final act.

I suspect that they will play again at some point - but doubtful we ever see a tour. Derek and Warren want to focus on their respective bands. Maybe a show here or there when Derek and Warren are playing a festival.

I saw them a couple of years ago and they were amazing. I've been catching the replay of this replay on Sirius (I've yet to hear the whole thing) and they sounded amazing. Wish I could have made it up.
  • So jealous. Went to the Saturday show (which was supposed to be the original last Beacon), and they were on fire. Tributes to Bill Graham (anni of his death) on Into the Mystic and jack Bruce (died day before) on Politician along with Duane, of course. Really firing on all cylinders (unlike March when I also saw them), but Tuesday was a real barn burner. So glad they were able to go out like that. Just jealous I wasn't there (ha, ha, ha).

Saw Santana play with them a couple years ago (on stage together first time on that tour, not just co-bill) and that was a treat. EC gutitatrfest with the closing set including the Dominoes reunion (well,as much as there could be) and the acoustic 2nd night short set. So many great memories with the Brothers (even beyond those). Glad my last show (for now) was one of the best, but yours - yowzers! I'm sure they will play together again, but what a great end to their formal touring.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
  • NICE! I tried for tickets and OBVIOUSLY didn't get…

You were a part of history! Congrats!

the brotherhood of light melted my mind and more than a few times on tour. saw them almost 20 times starting when woody and warren joined. a lot of line up changes though the years but one of the things that remained was their keyboard player and the brotherhood of light shows
    RIP gregg
