I just watched the VH1 performance and it looked like they were having so much fun and they were so animated during the Columbia show (i'm sure they were at other shows too, but i only saw Columbia) especially Ed. Just seems like the band is really happy and in a good place.....the future looks bright

ha! that's some funny shit right there! i have to agree. as a musician, there's nothing more frustrating than being hot.

Yeah, it struck me that Stone looked quite happy to be playing during the VH1 program. He was moving his arms more than usual. :)

Yeah, I thought so too. (And frankly, I thought the Who's song choices weren't the best considering that one of the songs is now known as a TV theme. :p )

Yeah these guy are going to be together for a mighty long time. It's all good unless Stone wants to close shop, (I don't want another Love Boat Captain) or anyone in today's line up quits. Then it would suck. What are we going to do when they start dying off. *shivers* I hate to think those thoughts. I will be devastated. A piece of me will die with them. It will be the 'other side' in reality. I would be lost in this world forever.
Here’s a question you might need to ask
What’s self destruction and how can we last?

"I cannot stop the thought of running in the dark.
Coming up a which way sign. All good truants must decide."

    agreed.
i think the band as a whole are all in a pretty 'happy place' in their lives, and feeling well-balanced, making the choices they want, content. we can only benefit from it all. :D

It might be just me, but they've been like this for 17 years. I mean back in the 90s when music was all serious and whatnot it wasn't so obvious, but I feel like every time I've seen pearl jam, back to 1994, they've always looked like the LOVE playing music. The never seem like they're phoning it in. Ever.

I agree except when Ed talks about his friend Tomas Young and war.

I was thinking this too last night. I remarked to my wife after Love Reign O'er Me about how they aren't going anywhere. They are just too good to hang it up now.

This thread makes me happy to read what is being said about the boys. The greatest Band on earth and hey, I love their music. Whilst they are making and playing it I will remain happy for a very long time hopefully.

Apart from the VH1 performances and obviously the recent tour my wife actually remarked how well they seem to get on just from watching Immagine In Cornice. I had to agree and said its because it seems they love making music and with it they are very nice people.
"First of all, there’s the palpable camaraderie and good feeling you get from the entire band as they smile and nod at each other, and huddle together in various formations throughout the show --- They look like they really like each other. They look stoked!"

This is the happiest thread ever! Perfect for a Friday...

But I do agree with the consensus on here that these guys look like they are loving what they are doing more than ever. And I'm loving it more than ever too....
