Sea Shepherd's new R/V Martin Sheen

This is so cool- Sea Shepherds have a new research vessel, the R/V Martin Sheen. Why is this important? Read on!:
Long-time Sea Shepherd supporter Martin Sheen unveiled the new research vessel and announced plans for an upcoming campaign to address the detrimental effect plastic has on marine wildlife and the health of our oceans.

If we fail to cleanup the plastic mess humans have made and stop the continued pollution of our oceans — the lungs of our planet — we face the potential extinction of many species of sea life and the disruption of the entire eco-system,” remarked Sheen during the christening."

Two years after posting about the then new R/V Martin Sheen, my wife and I got to tour this marvelous research ship in San Francisco Harbor, Pier 19. In case any others here are S.F. area PJ fans, it's open for free tours again tomorrow. Marvelously wonderful all-volunteer sea and shore crew what a great cause- saving our oceans!

Not only that, most Sea Shepherd volunteers are vegetarian or vegan. Captain Watson used to razz some of his crew a bit for being die-hard vegan but eventually he had to admit that was right for him as well.
