I'm really short, so unless I'm in the very front of GA, all I can see is people's shirts. Way back 1st show in '93, the whole theater was GA and I waited in line and was front center. But for the most part, as has already been said, I'm always going to try for reserved because I can almost always find a way to see better, and I also like the freedom of going for drinks or the bathroom and not having to fight to get back. I'm also old now, and waiting in line all day makes me cranky.
I just feel different leaving a show after being in GA. Im exhausted, elated, and completely enthralled. When you are in seats, its like you watched a show. In GA, you feel part of the show.
sick of lines for merch, lines for food, lines to piss/shit, now lines to go stand virtually in line all night long, lines to park, lines to get out.....lines on my face from age...lines lines everywhere you see
I'm 5'7", GA isn't my friend...... Especially so considering I will never get rail or close to it because I hate having other people rub up against and push me all night long...... It's just not my thing. I prefer having my defined space with a seat and a decent view of the stage.
My 10c # gets me ok seats at home in New England, but gets me awesome seats in cities like Montreal & Denver!
I love the GA Pit!!!.. usually get in line about an hour before and end up with a killer spot. It definitely isn't like the old days.....(being crammed in and fighting for your life all night) Hell, I went for 2 cocktail runs in Denver and people are more then happy to let you back to your area. My wife was not to excited about being in it the first time but she saw how chill it was and I am always able to place her where she can see good... 5'4'' ish.

to be clear theres a massive difference between the us ga pit on half the floor - they basically sell as many seated people would be in there and then remove the seats, vs. the euro tour whole floor GA setup. the euro floors are being crammed in all night and sightlines way farther back..

Interesting point on "feeling like part of" the show vs. "watching" the show. I did have 6th row, dead center for Alpine 2 in 1998 and it was a TOTALLY different experience. 10C has given me some solid seats since but I totally admit it's not as cool. I guess I am just getting too old to fight all day for proximity.

I did GA once and really glad I did it but my 46 year old body wouldn't be able to handle it well (or next time I wouldn't wait in line and just watch in the back of GA which is still really close).. Even 6 people back and being 5' 10" I had a little trouble seeing. I don't know how people do GA for multiple shows in a row.

I think if you have a high fan club number GA makes sense because you could get seats pretty far away. If you have a low number then seats are vastly superior. Is that site where you log your fan club number and what seat you got still active?
