Please open with Yellow Ledbetter in Denver

JB128716JB128716 Posts: 2,064
Since the band is on fire and are recently shaking things up a bit, I thought I'd try one more time for this one...
I've always thought Yellow Ledbetter would be an amazing opener. Come out with the lights still on and play YL.

And why not close with Release.

Ok, see you in Bridge school.

True. And you didn't ask it to be played for your just passed parakeet but for love of a song.

So as to your thought on YLB being first song, disagree on placement. Need to get crowd pumping and don't see it doing that. Release , immortality, or many other slower songs yeah but not YLB.

    My opinion.

And I'll be there rocking with you foremost. Sorry for bummer response, early and just read they played Yield without me.

Once, just once, I would LOVE to see this happen. For Pearl Jam to start the show with Yellow Ledbetter. To then hear Ed say "good night" and head off the stage .. to later come back & play another 3 hour set. :p

I've always thought this would be a cool thing to do.

No weirder than opening with Alive, which I think makes a worse opener than YL to be honest.

In this mold, Parting Ways would be a cool opener

NO! Would bum me out right the beginning can barely tolerate this song when I have 3 hrs of adrenaline coursing through me.
Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

Yes! Do it! Wait don't...I have been wanting them to do a show in reverse order for a long time, I won't be there so please, not in Denver.

PS Open a show with full lights with either Yellow or a slow closer, progress backwards to the slow opener(now closing with say Long Road), then roll out an "opening band," and then reward the fans that stuck around through that with an Eddie pre(post) set.

Not really sure why people don't think YLB would make a great opener. I understand if you hate the song and all. But how is YLB any different than Small Town?

And more people know YLB than a song like Pendulum.

It doesn't have a build like small town. Nor is it ominous like pendulum. It winds down.

After 2 shows with Pendulum as an opener, I'm not entirely sure I dig it.

The last line says it all. YLB winds down. After 3 hours of blowing the roof off the joint, YLB is a perfect song to wind down to before everyone hits the gate.
