Sadly, it was announced today that Ikey Owens has passed away while on tour in Mexico with Jack White.
Ikey was a very talented pianist and keyboardist and was only 38 years of age.
I personally was fortunate to have witnessed Ikey perform with The Mars Volta and also with two of Jack White's bands.
He was truly a master of his craft.

Saw him with TMV and Jack White as well. Didn't realize he was so young. Scary stuff.

Yeah, I was surprised he was so young as well.
I guess there will be more info released in the coming days/weeks.
For now though, Jack cancelled the remainder of the Mexican shows out of respect.

So sudden. :( So young for a heart attack... i wonder what went wrong??
    RIP Ikey.
Just saw him play 6 weeks ago - he was so awesome. I'm a piano player, so felt a special connection with him up there rocking the keys. Very sad loss.
