    In the lyrics sheet it says "such a view." I just think it's neat when he changes up lyrics. I was just wondering if it was just me

    Personally.. I think it's a coincidence ... But good catch... Don't think I'd ever have caught that...specially now.. Maybe when I was a lil younger.. Lol

    At least both songs have a completely different meaning for me.

    I think the two songs are linked because he is referring to a female in NM's "caught a bolt of lightning" and in LB he consistently refers to the lightning bolt as a "she". I think in both songs he is talking about the power and divine inspirational quality of female energy. Never let her go!

    I agree with what you said about the power and divine inspirational quality of female energy (which is nicely put), but I'm not so sure that means the songs are linked. Or perhaps I don't fully understand what the link should mean. Let's just say I don't see the two songs as telling the same story or a different part of the same story.

    So the link is just that he is referencing a female presence. And he is expressing that in two different songs as in how it affected him.... really we won't ever know what exactly happened to him to make him write those words....we are just so glad he chose to write those words because they mean something to us too!

    Of everything he has written lately, I am most blown away by " flipping through through the worn-out pages of stages where you knew not who to be...." I mean seriously, the night before I got in my car to drive to Worcester from Maine last fall 2013, I was packing up to move and had to go through all my old notebooks of old writings and thinking....fuck it! let's just get on with it already! So I threw most of them out. I had heard the song LB when it was released, (and saw them debut it at Wrigley) but those lyrics didn't really register until I heard it live in Worcester that night, and right then in the audience I thought - holy shit, how could he see what I was just doing like 12 hours before? I was literally doing exactly what he wrote, and then there he was standing in front of me and singing it.

    I agree - both of those songs have a completely different meaning and feeling about them to me as well. I just find it fascinating that some of the words and the way they are spoken are so similar. Can't help but think EV is deliberately messing with our minds... *insert twilight zone music*

    At least, maybe that is what I'm hoping for... Haha
