would you like to see Matt get a 60 second solo each night?

they do it sometimes on Even Flow, like The Gorge 2006, and being a fan of drum solos I think it would add an extra awesome element each show

Yeah, im not a fan either. The 'solo' in leaving here is enough for me.
Love Matt, just not drum solos

I love drum solos. I have ever since becoming a Led Zeppelin fan, and realizing that John Bonham was one if the most talented musicians to ever live. I'd like to see Matt doing crazy solos for way longer than 60 seconds every night. I want to see him showing off.

I'm not crazy about drum solos so it doesn't really matter to me. I could take it or leave it...wouldn't really make a difference.

I like what they have been doing on Even Flow where Matt plays a little extra. I thought at ACL he had his moment too during RVM and Porch but that could just be hard drumming. Love love love Matt. But honestly if I want to see Matt shine, I'll go to a Soundgarden show

All true. I loved the Evenflow solo too, although I felt that it was much too short. Yes, Matt shines in SG more.... BUT i actually think this is not a difference with Matt so much as it is that Matt outshines the rest of SG, while he can't with PJ (I am an SG fan, but....). Matt still has the same skills on a PJ stage... they just need to let him show them off more with some more and/or longer awesome solos. Mike gets to do it. Why not Matt? Then we'd see the Matt we see shining through at SG shows. :)

  • I like it when the band gives each member a chance to shine when they're feeling it. Like when Boom and Mike go against/with each other on Crazy Mary it is nice when they step back and put spotlight on Matt when they know he is feeling it during certain songs.

Only if there's a huge timer above him; anything over one minute, out comes the cane around the neck and you're off-stage, buddy!

I love my share of Peart, Moon, Bonham, Carey when it comes naturally (or seems to come naturally). When something comes across as forced or expected, just not the same, for me anyway.

exactly, my thoughts exactly, how can you like rock n roll and not like drum solos?, besides what is 1 minute of a 180 to 210 minute show? I don't get it

I'm 42 now, and grew up going to rock concerts all the time. Pretty much every band did them, and they were usually boring. Sure if John Bonham wants to come back from the dead and give us Moby Dick, then I'm all ears. But otherwise - things like drum solos and openings acts...they just take away time from songs getting played. To each his own.
