All I can say is what an amzing show! I have never been slow blown away by a band after a concert as I was tonight. It had amazing energy from the opening song severed hand all the way to the closing of indifference. Boston fans will be happy that Eddie said Boston was better at one point which makes me jealous I was not there especially since I am still floored over tonights performance an hour after it ended. Thank you Pearl Jam for an unforgettable night.

  • Going to second that for all the "energy haters" this tour...it was full of energy
    98- 9/8.9/10.9/11
    00- 8/3, 8/4, 9/1.9/2
    03- 4/28. 7/8. 7/9. 7/14
    04- 10/1
    05- 10/3
    06- 5/4!!!!, 5/12. 5/13. 5/27, 5/28, 6/1, 6/3
    08- 6/19, 6/20, 6/22, 6/25, 6/27, 8/4
  • other than the crazy guy behind me for the 1st 3 songs asking me to sit down i loved the energy. by the 3rd song i finally gave him a look that could kill and a flat NO! and he decided he would stand as well, but the place was def. rocking. I would have liked Eddiie to play Bushleaguer despite some fans not wanting it, but thats just me. I will not complain at all about the songs they played. HELL THEY PLAYED THE TRILOGY IN ORDER! def. a nice surprise for me.

  • I thought Eddie hurt himself bad.
    Anger is a gift
  • yeah mamasan in reverse order is correct. my bad

either way if boston sang louder than that is impressive (i think the td garden is much bigger than continental in our defense though), but i will admit liking thier setlists just as much as tonights when I first saw them
  • i was def. concerned eddie hurt himself bad since he was limping real bad when leaving the stage. hopefully it was nothing serious and maybe just a mild ankle sprain. he seemed fine during the last encore
  • man they rocked out and did ed look exhausted...gotta start mixing the red bull in instead of 1.5 bottles of wine.

    few notes...

    matt kicked ass on RVM

    Footsteps was fingbeautiful

mike's solo on Evenflow was ....eh. the sound was bouncing around too much

ed was in great spirits. on alive he stood on the left side atop a speaker or something then ran to the other side and there was nothing to stand on so he cracled up.

    susan sarandon was lovin indifference

    baba rocked the house

the fans sang every song it was awesome, better than camden imnsho

alone fuckup was hilarious. stones guitar went out right before he does his riff and ed tried to keep it going but without that riff he was like..kill this fucker

all in all they were great.
  • yeah stones reaction was great when his guitar went out. eddie did seem very happy tonight and enjoying the evening.

susan sarandon was there heh? pretty cool

baba was f'n amazing loved having the house lights on to see all the fans clapping and bouncing.

loved given to fly alot same with RVM, baba, indifference hell the whole night was awesome just those 3 really stand out right now

mike's even flow solo was a tad on the sub par side, but Matt had his back and came through with a killer drum solo.

Great show tonight - many missed Eddie starting the show with a Beatles song (but can't remember which - maybe "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away") and then introducing My Morning Jacket and playing the first song with them - good song - reminded me of The Band
  • This show was much better than Boston 2.

    I was going insane.

It was the Band.......Check Youtube for the original done by the Band,
  • yes it was You Got To Hide Your Love Away by the beatles Eddie came out to. sucks for all those late arrivals that they missed it. the place was so empty until My Morning Jacket went off stage.

bed time for me though i am exhausted from a day of jamming to PJ and then rockin out at the arena for 2 1/2 hours
  • ...sucks for all those late arrivals that they missed it. the place was so empty until My Morning Jacket went off stage.

I think the main reason the place was so empty was due to traffic - the Lincoln Tunnel was shut down for about 30 minutes right around 5:30p, so those of us planning to make the pre-set didn't even arrive at the arena until 7:45p.

Great, great show nonetheless, lots of highlights for sure...

I thought Eddie was teasing about Boston being louder than NJ. OMG I totally agree with you. That was the best concert I have ever been to, hands down! And that was my first show, so I feel like I can't go to another one--it would ruin the vibe.

So the bus from the Port Authority isn't all that bad--It goes pretty fast (even in rush hour it didn't take too long), and it was WORTH THE TRIP TO JERSEY!! (which I can't believe I said that ;-) j/k).

Thank God I listened to all of y'all who posted, to make sure you get there for the opening act, on tour, so I saw everything, and when Eddie came out I was just like "OMG, that's him!" There he is! Like, you can't believe there he is!

I had a nosebleed seat (non 10 club member, obviously) and while I was perusing the merch, I met a guy that worked for the stadium and had an extra ticket that was stage left (Mike's side), on the 1st level, and those seats were AWESOME. So I like to think I had good Pearl Jam Karma, going b/c he was just going to give it away to whoever so at least someone who's a big fan got it!

Now the show. Guys, this show was the bomb. They were so into it, and everybody was jumping and/or bobbing their heads and like really feeling it. Ed did not seem to have that much wine this evening, a few swigs here and there. At one point towards the end, he slammed down on the ground and really hurt himself--he came back up for an encore and he was limping!!
At the beginning Ed said how these were the last dates for the tour and even though they want to hurry up and get home, they have the best jobs in the world. Or something like that.

Y'all saw the set list and I thought it was fantastic...all those "fast, hard rocking" songs were just...incredible. The crowd went super nuts for RVM, and everybody was singing along to every part of Jeremy--even the "whoa oh" part!

Obviously (from my sig) as a huge fan of Dissident I was like, "they played my song!!" I was so happy about that.

He introduced EvenFlow and said that "halfway through, Mr. Michael McCready is going to take over" and the place went nuts for him. He was SO amped, doing the whole robot thing and walking in circles and pointing at people in the crowd. It was really cool.

The only songs I could've lived without are Army Reserve and Green Disease, but they gave you a minute to catch your breath, otherwise I was on my feet. I love looking at the audience and everybody just has their hands in the air, chanting and singing and woo-hooing. It's such an awesome sight.

I sat for the slow songs in the Encore, but once they got into Footsteps I was back up. Come Back is really a great encore number. It sounded great!! And yes, they did play those songs and yes, he did introduce after Footsteps, that was one of the first 3 songs we wrote, Stone wrote the music and I wrote the words--he introduced Once as the 2nd song and Alive as the 3rd. I got goosebumps when everybody was singing the "and if so, if so who answers" part at the end. Just amazing.

And then they did Glorified G! I kept thinking "OMG, I can't believe it," after all those songs they were doing...and then..

Ed said the last time he was at the Arena was with Bruce Springsteen (and everybody did the "Bruuuce" chant)... but the last time "our group" was there we did Bushleaguer and some people didn't like it or booed it (and there was some booing--probably Jersey people, LOL j/k!!) and "but we're not going to do it" but what would you think if we did do it, would you boo? And the place cheered instead. He was saying how he wanted to have a dialogue about it..I don't remember the exact words...

And he said how he listens to the fans..you call us (Excuse my language)..."p-ssies" and all that, and said something to the effect of how people want to hear Leash (and the guy in front of me was like, OMG, I hope they do Leash.")
and then they went into it and when they went "dah dah dah dah (or beep boop ;) the guy high fived me and he was like "LEASH!" That was pretty cool.

And then they were going way over curfew but Ed was like "f-ck it." At one point right towards the end they turned the house lights up! Baba O'Riley was PHENOMENAL. You guys have to get the bootleg. Everyone was screaming the Teenage Wasteland part. It was classic.

I was a little bummed to not see YL b/c I am a big McCready fan but other than that...it was just the most amazing concert ever. Sorry that was long but I wanted to repay the kindness of those who posted about Storytellers, and just to share with people who know what I'm talking about!! That introduction of those "trilogy" songs is how I imagined Storytellers would be, you know? But oh well.

Oh and I was three rows away from Danny Masterson (Hyde from That 70's show) and the Olsen twins were right next to the stage and yes, ladies and gents, they did bop their heads and seem like they were rocking out a little bit. Gosh they are tiny though!

OMG I can't sleep! I'm so excited. That was so awesome. Holy cow

I don't know where they were sitting the whole show, but it was somewhere up close--but for the encores they were on the left side (Mike's side).

awesome show !:D - beautiful , crazy mixed setlist. :)!!!

I was in sec 120 stones side, over his shoulder 20 rows back but beautiful site lines throughout . The sound, suprisingly, from my location, wasnt too terrible.A little suprised by that . CAA is notorius for bad sound.

i thought it was as if ed was confusing the Continental Arena with Nassau Colliseum at one point,.. when he referenced the Bushleaguer song and the boo's and all that ,..then they went into Leash . 1998 , Bushleaguer wasnt even around then. ed musta been drunk.

Highlights- ( for me anyways ) Last Exit ! Alone ! ( wtf happened , was it stone, was it ed ? blame it on stone ! )Immortality, Indifference, Leatherman , Green Disease , Footsteps !

after the crowd did the " Bruuuuucing ", ed said something to the effect of " Oh, You guys didnt like that ?" I dont know what he was referring to ? . shame they didnt cover a bruce song tonight --maybe sat.
He also fell numerous times, One time he slammed his hip and slightly limped-- i thought he may have really injured himself,.

I was shocked to see State Troopers patrolling the arena, hanign out at the curtains all over the place . Be careful folks ! The thunderstorms were horrific on Staten Isl and NJ- torrential downpours on the way in . Didnt get there till 9 pm due to the Lincoln Tunnel Fiasco .

why the hell does the ames poster say NY- thats a travesty.

  • JERSEY Night 1 ROCKED THE F OUT! Got better and better as the night went on.

Looks like Ed came down wrong on his ankle at the end of the 2nd set.... may have twisted it. But he seem'd mostly find during the 3rd Encore... soooo maybe not that bad.

  • Did anyone see that jerkoff from American Idold sitting 6 rows up on stones side? the bald guy that lost htis year? well people next to me had an infatuation with him and we bluntly told him he sucked and was no kelly clarkson. he did not know the words to one single song.

wow, the chris daughtry bash begins.......

he seemed pretty cool, he took pictures for people and even got on the phone to talk to someone's wife i think as he pretty much complied with everyone asking him for stuff. he was seated with Clive Davis which I thought was awesome to see him there and even better that my ticket purchase yesterday put me 5 rows in front of him........

I saw Kevin Mawae (formerly of the jets) there but who were those two girls standing on the floor on the side of the stage on Mike's side? they had a body guard and were hot and obvioulsy some people knew who they were b/c they were having a conversation during the first encore break...........
