    How does a 32, 33, 34 or a 29 song set differentiate anything?

3, 4, or 5. I think that's the Chinese algebra Ed was talking about earlier.

Big difference between 29 songs and 33-35 songs.

Exactly! It's craaaazy. It only makes a diff the folks that go to 10 thousand shows a tour.

How can some of you not see the difference? Both encores were pretty mainstream. You usually get some really good rarities in the 1st encore. An extra 5 songs between the 1st and 2nd encore could make the show look much different.

  • Like I always say on here, and I say it a lot, a fan cares about how well a band plays, a distant 2nd is what songs they play and how many were played.

    Yeah.
We all have those special 4-5 songs we want to hear. You throw in

    Rats
    Satans Bed
    Smile
    Immortality
    Sad

And all of a sudden Tulsa is truly EPIC!
    In my eyes anyways.

Ed mentioned in the St. Louis show something along the lines of how the show went too long in Cincinnati and he paid for it. St. Louis and Tulsa both came in a hair under 3 hours. I would guess Nebraska will as well.

Considering the crowd I think it was a hell of a show. All the side/ back stage seats as well as the 5 or 6 farthest from the stage upper bowl seats were empty.

I love the fact that 29 songs is considered a disappointment. I'd take these 29 songs over the 32 songs I just saw Cage the Elephant and The Black Keys play a couple weeks ago.

And don't get me wrong... CTE/TBK was a great show.

that sucks. I don't understand that since ok city was packed!!!

I would take pretty much any PJ show over any Cage the Elephant and The Black Keys show.

I saw them in Philly a few weeks ago and they were both fantastic, just not quite PJ. Was slightly disappointed by a 3-song encore by The Black Keys and no I Got Mine. Got everything I wanted and more from that show.

I would rather see PJ because it's PJ, not because this set is anything really special (it's good, not amazing)

I was disappointed in the turnout as well. I'm from OKC and was at both shows. The OKC show last year did have some things going for it, in that Dallas was the night before and it was easy to link those two shows, and OKC was on a Saturday.

That said, the Tulsa show was great. We're pretty fortunate to have had them stop here twice in a year's time. Hope it's not another 10 years before they come back again.

    EV: 2012/11/18 Tulsa, 2012/11/19 Tulsa
