that'd be great. :D but I think he might struggle with the screaming parts. :o

I really wanna hear Baba O'Riley, that would be appropriate. :)

Me too, though I did get it at 4/4 of the other shows I went to. REALLY not a fan of Fuckin' Up, especially as a closer. To me, anything other than YL sounds wierd finishing a PJ set.

only time I heard Fuckin'up, and wish they played it more, loved it, and it was only my 2nd gig.
Now, I'm fed up with Baba and RITFW... they're good, but it's ALWAYS one or the other as second to last song..they need to vary more (Fuckin' up and now Love Reign o'er Me would be good..though the formula: lights up, cover then YLB, occasionally Indifference, is also repetitive)

I don't think I would have minded it YL had followed Fuckin' Up in Dublin. Only heard Baba once, and Rockin' three times, and I suppose that isn't enough time to get tired of them.

I agree Sandra, as soon as I hear the opening riffs of Ledbetter its a bit of a downer because its the end (strung out with a 7-8 mins solo).

I think if it was more varied then people will be kept on their toes a bit more and wont have the 'down' feeling at the end.

except I get the feeling as soon as I hear Baba or RITFW, because I know it's almost over from those..don't even have to wait for YLB.

at the same time they HAVE TO finish with what we know...otherwise we'll expect them to go on :D

    They will...
...open with "Love Reign O'er Me".
...finish the main set with the Mamasan Trilogy.
...end the show with Baba & Ledbetter.

    Or not, who knows? :D

I think another reason the Astoria was so special was because YLB as the penultimate song.....everyone did think it was over which made the return for Alive all the more special :)

I just think YLB is the perfect song to finish on. It brings the evening to what feels like a more intimate close.

Fuckin Up is okay but its more of a first encore finisher than the whole show.

London is in the UK, Europe you know..
Star Spangled Banner, however nice when Mike is playing it, represents a bit too much nationalistic flag waiving (we don't do that kind of thing here..try putting your hand on your heart during a national anthem and you're likely to make people either puke or laugh!)
it's probably why they didn't play it once last year in Europe...they know better.

I was just kiddin :) I do really want to hear YLB though, without any tag, just straight up YLB, saw Mike close the show with it in Thunder Bay in 05, I still get chills thinking about it. Open with release, close with Ledbetter, why F with success......

I know, i was just kidding. We love our UK and European friends.....I still think that straight up YLB rules, little wing is great, but i'd rather hear PJ than Hendrix....cant wait to see you guys at Waxy O'Connor's on Sunday....

it'd be nice if they did something special... like All or None or All Those Yesterdays... something special for the 10club floor
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
