Am holding my breath that they will play RVM in Milwaukee in a couple of weeks.

Not literally, of course, as I'd be dead by then.

yeah unfortunately they don't play the epic 8 minute version too often, this version they could actually use as a close or let the crowd do a standing ovation and finish Indifference, that would be sweet too

I was there. It was incredible.

the band just played their asses off that night and Eddie was feeling the crowd, Porch, DTE, Even Flow and Alive were all awesome, nearly a flawless performance, and opening with Long Road, Can't Keep and Black was an awesome choice by Eddie, I have listened to that show at least 30 times already, it is up there with Charlottesville for me
  • I have been thrilled with what they have been doing with RVM as of late.

Best version I heard was from a MonkeyWrench radio broadcast in 95/96 just before NoCode came out. First time I heard Lukin and was blown away.

This version I am still searching for because I can't find my copy anymore. THIS version was the best I heard.

The one you shared is no slouch either Hank. Thanks for sharing!

no worries, stuff like this shows this band still has a lot left in the tank, Lightning Bolt will definitely grow on people, they just need to start playing Insignificance again, only once or twice since 2013 which is criminal, I just envision a Insignificance-Do The Evolution-Rearviewmirror to close out a set or an encore

I am drunk, but if memory serves, the RVM at Wrigley was a version that made me think it was something really special.

I was in Charlottesville as well. Super show. Sleight of hand, wow.
RVM played in Vienna in (I think 06) was really good, heard that yesterday on Sirius.
I really like the Orpheum Theater in Boston, April 94. Sounds like a studio cut it is so perfect and clean.

RVM has always had a strong and important place in my life. When I have found myself in points in my life far from family, or locations or jobs where the suck meter was pegged fully to the right, I always new that one day it would be over. One day it would be in my own RVM and as a result I would be stronger for it.

I've recently been thinking that this version of RVM from the 2012 Berlin show was the best version ever, but the Vienna show was phenomenal too...check this out though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIoRq4YUMFk
I was alone and far away when I heard the band start playing!

...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!

that was really awesome first time I saw that video, when they break out the extended version if you aren't into that you will never truly get Pearl Jam, there are two songs I have never heard any Pearl Jam fan say they don't like, one is Porch and the other is Rearviewmirror

san diego 2006 usually gets some love. nearly tops 10 minutes, eds vocal intro plays off of the life wasted that preceded it, ed adds some vocal improv in the jam, and the jam itself is probably as good and intense as you'll ever hear this band play. they're locked in.

sadly it doesn't appear to be on youtube, but here it is on pearljambootlegs: rearviewmirror

I've been enjoying the Trieste, Leeds, and Charlottesville versions of RVM. Can't go wrong with any of them

It's funny, but C'Ville does not seem to get a lot of cred, but the show was amazing. Set list was unbelievable. I was supposed to be in Baltimore, but had to miss it due to my crappy job. Both shows combined, would have been epic. On to Lincoln this Thursday.

I've always liked it when Ed does a little improv at the start. Did it quite abit in '06 and used to sing "never coming back again" I think.
