    @given2fly23

can you please copy a link to the exact pair you use?

I definitely need these for the upcoming tour.

I knew this was coming. I go to a lot of shows and I BLAST music in my car. I'd like to stop any more damage. Right now its not bad and manageable, but I can see it getting a whole lot worse if I don't worry about it now.

my wife is really weird about her ears. she doesn't like anything in the ear canal so she won't wear earbuds or use regular earplugs at shows so she uses these moldable silicone jobs. I was going to try them out last night at the AC/DC show but I'm an idiot so I forgot them.

I used to swim a lot so I've worn these before. I'd expect them to drown out a LOT of sound and make it muffled. I think these are the types of plugs that should be worn to sleep.

Personally, these blocked out too much sound for me. But everyone's different, so find what works best for you.

That's true. I'm looking for just enough to help with tinnitus.

I don't think she completely seals off her ears with them.

Did I mention she's weird about her ears?

I'm 26 with tinnitus since Pearl Jam 2010 in NYC. I also play guitar and drums, and go to a lot of shows. I had custom musician's earplugs made about three years ago for about $200 Canadian, and have zero regrets, and would honestly encourage everyone here to do the same! If/when I have children, as soon as their ears have ceased growing, I will pay for them to have them made so that they can attend shows and still hear the show properly, but also protect their ears.

If it's too loud, your too old. Just kidding. I don't wear them. I used to though because concerts were much louder back in the day.

I have some of the regul earphones that came with my galaxy phone. Would those drown out too much? I was just going to take them in case but now I'm thinking I should get something specifically for concerts???

since r.e.m. in 1985 i never go to shows without ear protection. i just use the cheap disposable ones and they work fine. anyone who thinks you are a foolish for using them is extremely foolish themselves.

I don't go to any indoor show without earplugs, but that's just me. Never used headphones at a show before but I'd imagine they don't work as well but are better than nothing. I feel pretty strongly about ear protection at concerts.

Bought a pair of these at a music store in my town about a year or so ago. Well worth the 10 bucks or however much it was. They've lasted countless jam sessions and every time I play my drums. Also great for concerts, actually improves the bass notes and gets rid of all the high frequency stuff that causes ringing later. Smart idea to wear them although I've found in certain venues or sections in venues I don't really need them. But GA for example I'd definitely put them in.

I have the Mack's musician earplugs and they are great. I think the show sounds clearer with them in and I don't have any ringing in my ears after the show.
Plus, they do a nice job blocking out people who are talking around me during the show (not sure why people feel the need to chat if they don't know or like a song)

Believe it or not I keep it simple.......toilet paper. I tend to forget earplugs when going to shows and a small rolled up piece of TP seems to block out the extra distortion and I never have muted or ringing ears the next day

Been to 550 shows in every type of venue, no tinnitus because I learned my lesson at my 2nd show (Soundgarden at the Aragon) and never attneded a show without earlpugs again.

I use the etymotics. Makes the music and speaking in between much clearer and if I lose them it's not an investment to get another pair.

Which etymotics do you use? http://www.amazon.ca/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=etymotics+ . I gotta pick me up a pair on this tour.

I always just use my eronomic panasonic earbuds (when I put them in, and then take them out again because I feel like they're ruining the show). I don't go anywhere without my mp3 player, so am never without them, and I can take them out without worrying about dropping them because they're attached to a wire. They are way more comfortable than any ear plugs I've used too.

I tried earplugs only once at the DC Tres Mts. Show a couple years ago. I was with a musician friend who insisted I wear them. Three songs in, I pulled them out. I just felt too much inside my own head in a room full of people, distracted by the muffled sounds. I guess I'll try again. Maybe.

You definitely should. Did you use the foam ones or something else? I tried foam ones and quickly ditched those too.
